Vacation over..So i came back from bintan yesterday. How should i say.. The holiday was nice.
It was beach, beach and more beach.
Our accomodation (Mana Mana Beach Club) wasn't all that fantastic - it was only rated 2 star - but it's good enough for me. Close to nature, the rooms were cosy and the people were friendly. I kinda like the feel.
Day 1:
We took the 8.30am ferry and arrived there about 9 their time. Hung around at the beach - it was in front of our hotel - as we could only check in at 11am, the earliest. In the end, they gave us our rooms at about 12pm. The day was practically spent just slacking lol.. Ate lunch then went to the beach again to soak in the sea and tan a little. And i did tan my body a lil.. At least the white ain't so white now haha.. Went to Pasar Oleh Oleh and ate some cheap and simple dinner at a workers' hawker centre. Pasar Oleh Oleh is supposed to be a tourist attraction but it totally sucks! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Day 2:
Buffet breakfast.. We ate alot! Then off we went to Tanjong Pinang, the biggest town on bintan island. Traffic there is scary.. And the town was quite run-down. The ride there took about 1h15mins. All we went was this 'mall', another shopping mall - the biggest one there which is in fact very small by Singapore's standards - a souvenir shop of sorts and some eatery for lunch. That took us all of 6 hours. Returned to hotel, slacked for awhile before going to eat at the kelong restaurant. That's the best meal i've eaten in ages! Kelong combination - cold dish, shark's fin (killing more sharks again), steamed black grouper, chilli crab, kailan with mushroom, crispy chicken, noodles fried hong kong style, butter prawns and honey dew with sago. Guess how much it cost? 410 bucks! With taxes and all.. But it was really really wonderful. :)
Day 3:
Buffet breakfast again.. Then it's the sea. This time i went sailing. Not a good choice at all. Brought Sarah, Rachel and Lynette out. Went bringing Lynette back, i capsized pretty close to shore and broke the mast and tore the sail. That was bad.. It cost us 180 bucks for repair. So if you count it alogether, it's 215 bucks for that whole hour. Auntie Jessica also rented the kayak to play.. Even though Sarah had to be on for every ride out. That got her pretty tired. Lunch was once again settled at the hotel's coffee house. The food there is pretty nice i think. The sambal.. Superb! Rushed to take photos lol.. And hat's the last of it! Checked out and took the 4.30pm ferry home.
Took plenty of photos with the new nikon coolpix 4100. At last count, it was 296. That's a whole lot huh? Will be putting up pics soon..
