My life pastSo I've spent the past few hours reading past entries and it amazes me how childish I was, yes Amanda? (: I miss jc, sailing, competitions, running into school just in time for morning assembly and getting a thrill from that, airport study sessions, the feeling that going out is woah!, 05S226 (pae), the teachers, the feeling that being able to drink is like having access to forbidden fruit, walking round school and meeting/chatting with random people, pe lessons, sailing PT, jogging on the track after school/lessons, playing bball with the girls and Jan & Co., and most importantly once close friends like Shauna, Fizz, SY, Sam, Sherry, etc.
Anyway, in August 2006, I had these dreams. I am (not) proud to say that up till now, I have not accomplished any.
1. Backpack around the world
(prolly not in the near future; need moolahs!)2. Be a social worker
(not in the near future either; need moolahs too!)3. Be a pilot
(uhh for now, no time?)4. Learn and master Hokkien and Cantonese
(attempting to, trying very hard!)5. Maintain old friendships and develop new ones
(hmm, have to try harder!)6. Re-learn organ and learn how to play the guitar
(uhh for now, no time as well?)7. Stay abroad for a while
(most probably will be able to realise this year, hopefully!)8. Bungee jump or sky dive
(no moolahs to go NZ!)9. Have some sort of competition throughout my life
(does rivalry count?)10. Be in a coma
(hmm I do not have a say in this.)To add on (goals rather than dreams):
11. Get a driving license by the time I start working.
12. Find regular mahjong kakis.
13. Be able to trade by the time I start working (skills and capital wise).
14. Be able to jog 10km ('cause marathons are the only source of event tees after I graduate).
15. Be a better communicator.
16. Increase social network.

Holiday slumber-ingSaw this on one of my friend's FB notes so I thought I'd try and see how accurate it is.
| What is your True Fear? Your Result: Losing Someone You love affection and the people in your life more than anything. Your greatest fear is that one day someone you care about won't be there anymore. You are a very friendly and inviting person, who draws in a lot of friendships with your kind, considerate, and loyal nature. However, deep down you are slightly insecure and unsure of yourself. You couldn't deal with it if you didn't have one of your loved ones in your life anymore. You don't have too much to worry about though, because with a friend like you, no one will want to lose you either! |

Just completed watching 岁月风云
today yesterday. I wanna learn Cantonese and how to type Chinese characters using Changjie too. Tried learning the latter a while back but it was so difficult! I think I have picked up siu siu Cantonese from watching 60 episodes of 岁月风云 and 34 episodes of 赌场风云, or at least I hope so! And my body clock is screwed. I sleep at 7am everyday even though school has already started. Cannot seem to switch back to being un-nocturnal. So for now, I'm consoling myself with this being prep for CNY 'cause you know what they say about staying late on CNY eve.
Can't wait for Chinese New Year to arrive. :D Though I haven't bought clothes and shoes and accessories yet. But we have gone CNY grocery shopping - my favourite shopping experience ever no matter how auntie that sounds, peeled ginko nuts - spent the entire night and by that I mean from 1am to around 9am, done the exchange of goodies within family + for the first time Yin. Gave her 1 bottle of homemade cashews for 2 bottles of yummylicious chocolate chip cookies.
Besides the lil prep I've done for CNY (haven't done spring cleaning!), also tried to find clothes with Sissy R to no success, had steamboat with Dad, Mom and Sissy R, met with the TK sailors and sang karaoke with them for the first time, met with Yin to 'shop' but instead we ended up at Lau Pa Sat chatting till the buses stopped operating and had to take a cab 'cause both of us had early classes the next day. So in short, I'm having a good time now. But I guess what truly made my week is the belated X'mas present from Yin. I feel guilty now for procrastinating for hers so I don't know when it'll be done now since I haven't even started.

Ah memories.
The next couple of days will be a flurry of activities without nary a stop in between and I'm gonna have bucketloads of fun!
Off to lalalaland!

Huh what are you saying?I lost my voice again! I blame the chilly winds of last (last) night and loads of fried food from macs. When you're sitting at macs the whole night long, the reasonable thing to do is to get their food. That we did not once, not twice, not even thrice, but four times. See this is the secret to mac's success- record speed in food disintegration. Big thanks to Cousin Nette for pei-ing me the entire night! And YH for hmm waking at 2.50am to come down despite having work the next day. 够 cousin, 够朋友. :D

Why is it that I puke everytime I drink nowadays? ): Twice in a week!
By the way, had a fab new year's eve at Aunty S's with supper, cousins, sparklers, and drinking game with the cousins.
Then New Year Day was pretty awesome too minus the fact I lost at mahjong. It's my ah gong's third death anniversary! Which means we can finally make
bak chang this year. (: My people really choose good days to go to heaven - my great grandma died on Christmas Day and ah gong on New Year. They make sure that no one will have an excuse to miss their anniversary.
Met with Del and Amanda on the 2nd. Haven't seen Del since our last gathering some 4 years ago! Same with Aslam whom we met after. The last half year has been quite surreal. Suddenly, we're meeting with the TK peeps quite often. Looks like the TK 21-year-old bash thing really worked. (:

JadedSucks to start the new year on such a note.
Having issues here there everywhere. Singtel's a bloody money sucker. AC's such negative energy. I swear it's killing my social skills, circle, and time. I haven't even gone to Mambo in a year and AC is taking away my last opportunity to partyyy with the peeps+seniors before school starts. Maybe it's just me. Maybe I should just resign. The whole AC thing is such a burden. I don't like how my P forces stuff on me and the people are just alright so there are no uplifting point in my eyes. People. I've been doing the rashest stuff when it comes to people ever since stepping into college. And guess what? Most of the time I don't regret. I hate it. It's like I don't value people and having them around any more; I take for granted that they will be there no matter what. A homebody convert, loving it, and don't see myself changing soon. Introversion extraversion- it's like coming full circle. It could be the influence of someone I read. Or it could also be plain cynicism. I wish everyone can be as innocent and carefree like before and not do things with an underlying motive. I wish people wouldn't talk behind people's back. For the first time in a long long time, I dread communication. So I appear offline, take half a day to reply messages, miss calls, give curt replies, turn down outings, with (I'll be honest here) nary a tinge of guilt. Yes, heck I'm not sorry. But if you know me, you would understand this is but another nonsense phase. If you don't, I really can't be bothered since you don't know me anyway. It has come to my realisation that length does matter. Thank you, my folks and my almost decade-old friend!
