Wasting time at the computerI am feeling increasingly uncomfortable being home alone. It is not about being afraid (okay, if there was
a big any insect that insists on staying within 2 metres of me, I will be extremely afraid), rather it is about the house being so empty and quiet. It makes me want to take out the bicycle and cycle to anywhere. But I cannot do now 'cause Ah Ma is cooking and since everyone is out 'cept for me, I must go and eat - which is another big problem because I ate 2 bowls of laksa, 1 bowl of instant noodles and lots of fruits today. That's a whole lot. That's why I'm growing fatter by the day.
I feel a wee bit clever because I thought of a way to start on my lemon juice consumption again. You see, though I have been saying I need to lose weight, I need to lose weight very often these days, I never got round to drinking the lemon juice because I am way too lazy to squeeze them. Today I bought five lemons and together with the four in the fridge, that's nine lemons and I am going to squeeze all of them later. A week's supply of lemon juice ready for consumption any time any day! No more excuses not to drink. Yay to me!
I never will learn; procrastinate so much until have to courier the supporting documents to NUS. I could have gone to NUS to submit them but other than being a pro procrastinator, I am also a bum.
P.s. Sarah's home! I will have company for dinner! Goody.

WahliaoI
hate hate hate the way I sleep now. Other than last night, I have been waking at such ungodly hours every night the past week. No, make that the past 2 weeks. For what, I don't know. It sucks. I love my sleep. I want my sleep. Damn you, body.

Blogging at workI had the best sleep last night in a week but I still woke up with panda eyes. Gah! Those eye rings never disappear, do they? I almost had a sore eye this morning but after 2 drops of eye solution, it was cured. Ahh! I thought I could use that as an excuse to get half a day off today or something.
This will be my second and last chance to blog at work because no way am I going to so much as hint that I do blog because she is definitely one want-to-know-it-all person. It sucks to be sitting at a table with a monitor that 'Nice Colleague' has a full view of every time she turns around.
Okay, I cannot decide whether 'Nice Colleague' should be known as 'Nice Colleague'. I mean she
is nice to me but she is also quite horrid to 'Other Colleague'. She has bought me countless treats, taught me the how-to for many things, brought me around to look see look see etc. etc. She protects me A LOT
but it is at the expense of 'Other Colleague' so sometimes I feel a little bad. She steals the credit from other people and reports bad things about 'Other Colleague' to the boss. Granted 'Other Colleague' is far from a model employee (she's only been early for work twice this month) but still.. Backstabbers are such despicable people. I cannot bear to imagine what she has been talking behind my back. So, ultimately, do I regard her as a good or bad person? Hmm, for now, she shall be known as 'Nice but 2-faced Colleague'.
I tsk tsk at my friends when they tell me that they smoke or how much they drank the night before because I think, oh no, alcohol and smoking are vices, we aren't supposed to engage in them. Yeah, yeah being all self-righteous, like what the crap. Anyway, it just dawned on me a few days ago that I am just the same. Not that I drink a lot or smoke but, damn, I gamble. And gamble a lot I do. It's the temple culture I tell you. I never used to buy 4D and Toto like now. You know, I spent 20 bucks on Toto last Thursday and it's not even legal. Right, I shouldn't be saying such stuff.
I have things to do but I am BORED. It is going to rain again. It's always raining in the afternoon these days. Today's my last day as a temp admin assistant because it's handover day on Monday! Woohoo, I actually stuck it out this long! I really ought to give myself a good treat for this. Of course I won't mind if anyone else is willing to give me one as well.
Now now now, it reminds me, LSH, where's our first pay meal?! My working stint here is about to end already!
@ 1:56 AM
Thursday supperWhat initially was dinner became supper. We were telling ourselves, if this continues, we are all going to grow FAT. Yay, new members of the FAT club (I'll finally have some company). Visited SY's work place which is really quite a cool chill out place. Only I think there were plenty of frogs around. We heard many croaking sounds and on the way out, we actually saw one! Dang, I screamed! Frogs taste nice in porridge/claypots but seeing them. Uhh no no.
And I had a tequila shot today. 'Nice Colleague' taught me how to drink it before but I just couldn't remember if the lemon or salt comes first. It wasn't too heavy so I did NOT get drunk. I realise that most people probably dont get drunk with a shot but still, at least I had the mind to think that since my parents are fetching hence I had better not be the least bit wasted.
I wonder what it will be like next Thursday?
Okay, am tired. Have been having interrupted sleep this week. Terrible. I think you can call me Hello Panda already. That's how bad the eye rings are.

I declare myself the worst accountant everI paid a supplier twice for the same invoices. Like how can?? Giving away free money like that. And I still harboured the hope that I could perhaps correct it without anyone knowing yesterday. But now it's impossible! So everyone will know I made a double payment and that's taboo in the accounts profession.
I think I can just kick the thought of being an accountant out of my head. Boooo to me.

If you had to choose,Would you rather have the sense of smell, sight, hearing, taste or touch?
I think I am turning into a insomniac (yet again) and that is not good, not good at all.

YayI finally got down to doing my applications - at least for NUS and NTU because SMU's deadline is 10 days later. Oh, how I love to procrastinate. Cheers to SMU! Two applications took me, what, 4 hours? That is totally crappy. Not forgetting my NUS discretionary essay was totally slip-shod because I kept thinking, 'oh no oh no, when are they going to automatically log me out?'. The half hour system sucks. And the NTU one needs appraisals! Gosh. Me pray hope the teachers I have in mind for this extra assignment is going to accept it so very graciously and of course do a huge favour and say extremely wonderful things about me.
Did I mention I applied to be a teacher? Well, I did. Congrats to all the future generations of students. You are about to have the slack-est teacher around. Thank you. No, thank me.
I had many thoughts this afternoon - life, friends, changes - but, err, I think I am a little high right now from the alcohol. I suddenly had a craving for those beers in the fridge but Sister wouldn't share with me and I am so not keen to have the calories of a bottle of beer in me this late. Plus, I needed to be awake enough to complete my darn applications. So me being the brilliant me, went to pour some vodka instead. Which is like what the crap, because I bet the amount of alcohol in that cup of vodka is equivalent to the bottle of beer. No difference can! My ignorance (stupidity) is unbelievable. Never mind, think of the calories.
Calories of vodka < Calories of beer
Right? I mean you don't hear of vodka bellies. It had better be true. If not, I can just go die from my stupidity.
Okay, let's talk about life. Life is just so so unpredictable and fragile. One moment, you're fine and the next, you're diagnosed with some chronic disease. What the crap? So we work and work and work and live and live and live just to see ourselves grow sick, frail and die. It's totally meaningless, totally illogical.
And change. I just got to know from A that a formal classmate of ours is working at Spinnelli and wants to work there forever. Like yeah, err, right. Okay, I trying not to be judgemental here. This guy's still a good man. He doesn't smoke for one. Hurrah to him! I don't know why, but first thing I asked A was if he smokes.
You know, the people you least expect to like becomes the best people in the end. We laugh at it every time we mention it. Two people who disliked each other at first sight become the two people who queue for Donut Factory doughnuts together. Who would have thought that? By the way, yay! We are going to go queue again on Tuesday! Doughnut freaks.
My sister is doing her business computing assignment which is to set up a website for XXX company. I just told her her logo is not nice and I suggested one pretty one but we couldn't find the curly wurly arrow anywhere! Where did all the curly wurly arrows go?! Maybe curly fries got them. Gah!
I really ought to go to bed but the night is so warm and I'm sticky and I'm too lazy to shower so I guess I shall sit here a little longer playing addictive minesweeper.

SatisfactionJust got home from some volunteer work! Weeee, I am happy! This is the first time in perhaps a year? I love being part of this kind of event stuff. Plus the fact that I got to wear the management tee. And the fact that I held a walkie talkie. Minus the fact that I didn't actually use the walkie talkie. Oh well. And I had a glass of red wine. It was good. I think I am beginning to learn to appreciate wines.

I am such a suakuI was going to rave about how I am such a
suaku for having typed my first entry on a laptop BUT I just had to be disconnected from the internet when I was about to publish it so, poof! Gone! Bleh. Well, in the end, I am still a
suaku for not having typed any entry on a laptop.
I am also such a
suaku because I just had my first Subway meal today! It dispelled my earlier notion that Subway is not a place worth eating because all they serve are sandwiches and everyone can make sandwiches. The
Sunway Subway Club was delicious, very very filling and, I suppose, healthy. BUT I still prefer dining at places where they serve real food. Subway is, after all, just
instant sandwiches.
We saw many TK-sians at Raffles City. Okay, it was only two. But considering we were only there two hours at most, that is an average of one per hour! And I had every intention to queue for those yummy doughnuts (I just learned from last week's Sunday Times that this is the correct spelling) from Donut Factory again but, oh my goodness, the queue was terrible! Contary to what my sister said about the weekday afternoon queue being only half an hour, it was almost as long as the last time I went to buy it. That means at least one and a half hour of waiting = definite no go. So no doughnuts = quite a dissatisfied me.
Note to self: Never trust Sister's words on queue time at Donut Factory again.

I'm so impressed with myselfWork is such a rollercoaster. Yesterday, I was all depressed, moody and negative but today is such a happy day!
I think my boss has a better impression of me. 'Nice (who may not be all that nice) colleague's' hubby praised me on my early-coming for work (almost) everyday. I say almost in brackets because when I'm late, they are even later so they don't actually see me come in late. I almost blurted out my outstanding latecoming record back in school but decided otherwise. Might as well leave them a good memory of me being that always punctual girl right? I mean, they could be the only ones thinking that of me ever! I played minesweeper for most part of the day. I even attempted to do the NUS application but once again, I gave up halfway.
I think 'Nice Colleague' realises that I'm no push-over. For one, she doesn't ask me to do stupid things for her like take out a file that she needs, laminate her stuff, fax her papers etc. which she asks my other colleague to do. I don't quite like how 'Nice Colleague' does that - treating her like an assistant - but I cannot exactly say anything because 'Other Colleague' does it so willingly. A milestone was crossed today; 'Nice Colleague' actually went to check out the necessary information herself instead of having me do it though I was very openly playing Minesweeper (oops!). That was something I am supposed to do as it was concerning prices (accounts). I am thinking it was due to the attitude I displayed yesterday. Cheers to mood swings!
Today was such an uneventful day. I am waiting in anticipation for tomorrow to come because I will be getting off work early and going back to school. Yay, I Love School! Now, what got into me? That may be the first and last time I'm saying that.
While digging for my PW certificate (because NUS has a screwed up admission system that doesn't acknowledge retainees taking PW during their first year), I stumbled upon my admission essay for TJC. Whoa, I am shocked at how I could crap out such a convincing piece of work when I cannot even come up with a 300-word essay for those university applications now. Obviously, my brain has ceased to function after the repetitive and mundane life I call The Working Life.

I have gone blog-hopping and finally found a blog that interests me. Well, it started because I realised one of my higher-ups probably knows about this space (uh oh, very very bad) and me thinks I should keep this discovering of blogs going, shouldn't I? Okay okay, I know, terrible excuse.
Dear me hasn't gotten down to doing any of the univerisity applications nor revision for tomorrow's maiden tuition lesson. Two options: dead
or dead? I mean, yes I did try to do the NTU one at work yesterday but gosh, the discretionary part (which is extremely essential for my application) is so crappily tedious what with the 2 short essays. Ahh no mood to apply already
lah. And where are my Secondary 4 Chemistry bibles?? All thanks to them, I was among the top in the level very often. But I don't even remember a lot of my Secondary 3 and 4 stuff now. Dang, WHERE ARE THEY???
Random thought: You know you can say, for example, he is sheltering me. So, is 'he is interesting me?' correct? It looks wrong, but technically it seems correct. English is such a complex and confusing language, how can anyone be a master of it?

Counting the daysSo with the knowledge that I am going to leave so very soon, I have been openly reading the newspapers whenever I am free at work. Who cares? I need to be updated on the happenings around the world for all the upcoming interviews (hopefully). An uncle asked yesterday if I would work there again after they move to the new premises and I said NO! without a moment's hesitation. Besides, I think the S-G (my 'boss') has a horrid impression of me anyway.
Wait, I just realised I probably should have been reading the Math textbook during my free time instead of newspapers. Crap, totally forgot. And tuition is this Sunday! Oh man, shoot me.
AHH! My stomach is getting
BIGGER. It is a balloon now.
11 days more to the end of my stint at LYTPK. I CAN'T WAIT!!

Madness. One and a half hours for a dozen of (delicious, as we discovered later) donuts. Thank goodness for company and Chippy fish & chips. But now that I've tried it, I don't think I will mind queueing all over again. Yummy, yum yum!
Went to NUS and SMU open houses today. Met Mal (what was she doing there?!), L (RJ student, gosh!), DK, J, K and many more. NUS was vibrant, lively, happening etc. etc. while SMU was just.. bleh. The open house at SMU was terribly small in scale and the seats for the various talks were extremely inadequate. What's more, I fell asleep in both the talks I attended in SMU. Oh, and NUS gave
many A LOT of freebies whereas all I got from SMU was a.. pen?
I am swayed. I mean, both S and I are swayed. But, with my grades.. Well, we'll see how it goes.
Highlight of the day: We bought a laptop!! Yay-ness. It's sleek, light and has a 2GB RAM! It will never hang no more!! Weeeeeee!! I cannot wait to use it! Though it's not technically mine
lah. =D

TutoringGot my very first tutee yesterday. He is a Sec 4 China guy who's going to take his O'levels this year. Going to teach combined Chemistry and Emath. Hope I'll do okay. My sis says I accepted too low a fee for it. Oh well. He's my guinea pig; pity him.

AccountsOn the one hand, I do wish to enter accountancy. But on the other, having just spent a whole day at work - yes, all 9 hours - getting so frustrated I was on the verge of ripping the papers into pieces trying to balance the amount listed on the bank statement and my income record (because of a stupid $50 cheque), I cannot imagine what the future will be like. And I foresee many such episodes happening because I am definitely not the most meticulous, patient (read: must-have qualities of an accountant) person on this planet. How now?

Last day of CNYI'm tired.
Late night on Friday and no night yesterday. We played mahjong all night (actually completed two full rounds) so it wasn't until 10am this morning that we slept. I won! Have to make full use of the last day of CNY you see. After today, no more mahjong in the household till next year. That is a long long wait.
Friday was The Day. I was glad when I received the results slip but the reality of perhaps not being able to enter any of the three business schools is just.. bleh! I was satisfied with mediocrity. But I still thank the gods (whoever they are, since I, er, prayed to quite a number) for the grades because gosh, it was indeed unexpected. My first year Math teacher, Mr N, was shocked. Ms K was saying, 'See! And that time you wanted to go to poly'.
I've been very lucky in all my national exams. No studying in Primary 6 got me into an above average secondary school, 2 weeks of studying landed me in a top 5 junior college though I ended up in another respectable (I hope) jc, 1 month of studying, hopefully, brings me into a university.
Anyway, that day was the first time I stepped into a karaoke joint. Frankly, I don't like the place. I think I just dislike places with the smell of smoke. They make you stink. My colleagues were crazy enough to book the place as a post-dinner activity and I succeeded in being a spoilsport by refusing to sing even one song. In the end, I reached home past 2am. It's good to go out with people who drive. I hope my friends will all get their driving license soon. =D
