ConflictA major argument happened in the office today. Like majorly major argument. I kinda like how Boss handled the situation and wonder if Uncle LM manages his company this way. Sister S and I had a long talk about him the night I came back. Anyhow, the conclusion is, we will stop having free lunches uber soon. Sucks la. And I was put in a majorly difficult position during the course of that argument. Grr.
I'm feeling very lethargic but I have loads of work to do and all of them have to be completed by today. Sian.
Tuesday, May 29, 2007 @ 2:53 PM
Back!Back at work. I had a strong urge not to come into the office today but when I thought of the 50-odd bucks that was going to make their way into my pockets, I dragged myself off the couch. Yes, I fell asleep on the couch last night while watching tv.
What a surprise when I saw that I have a new lcd monitor on my desk! Though it's
a tad much smaller, the colour is more vibrant and my desk looks neater. Yay! We also have a new fax machine which is white in colour. I still prefer the old one 'cause this looks so boxy and plastic-y. Eee. And the phone rings twice before the fax comes in - so noisy.
Update on office politics: Office people (excluding me of course since I just came back) officially hate Uncle.
Okay, I haven't talked about my vacation. It was exhausting to say the least. I'm still recovering from the hectic-ness of it all. I guess I'm neither particularly satisfied nor disappointed. The scenery was breathtaking. The hotels were, well, let's put it this way - the good hotels we barely stayed for half a night, the bad hotels we stayed for one night. Like what the crap right? Not one hotel did we stay for more than a night besides the cruise. The cruise was awesome!
More later!

Goodbye to S'pore, hello to China!Last post. Blogging using free internet access at airport. Kinda cool though now there's someone waiting beside me to use it. Dang. Entered gate already, now waiting to board. Ah this place is always the most boring place. Luckily, there's now internet to use.
Saw my plane. It's a small one. =X
Anyhow, I'm going to keep a journal while there. I'm really going to pen down my thoughts for the first time in a long long long time.
This person beside me is making me stressed. Damn.
Ciao!

EnnuiI think I busied myself too much these two weeks, so much so that nothing feels point-ful (opposite of pointless?) any more. Feel tired perpetually the whole day with little motivation to communicate at home. When I reflect on the activities last week and this, I realised I haven't gained anything worthwhile. I neglected family. People always come and go.
@ 4:06 PM
=DActually they are sweet people
lah. Just now I said I was craving for hot dog bun then they really bought it for me for tea! I'm a happy girl.
@ 12:36 PM
Aiyo.I totally overslept today. I woke up after work started. Like uhhh. Apparently, I told mom last night that I don't have work today. Dad heard too so no fight for me. Why she ask me when I'm
seh and playing computer? Grr. Then Sarah saw me sleeping but 'cause it was so late already, she too thought I'm not working today and didn't wake me. Imagine my horror when I opened my eyes and saw the sun bright and cheery and Sarah on the chair watching Channel NewsAsia. The
pek chek thing is I was actually awake at 7.20am (I wake up at 7.30am) but went back to sleep 'cause I thought mom was going to wake me in 10 minutes. -.-
I was seriously contemplating not to come to work if not for yesterday's afternoon work. Maybe that's not such a good idea after all. Then again, barely 2 hours on, I've finished all that I'm supposed to and I'm freeeee again.
I think I'm going to have a hell of a night today. Dinner, a little shopping and packing. Confirm another late night and tomorrow confirm chop stamp have to go out buy last minute stuff. I don't even want to start packing
lah. It's so tedious.
Friend is at a Bloomberg seminar. The place has a pantry like 7-11 and office like a new shopping centre. Say it with me, WHOA!
I've been hearing the song 'Home' every morning. Why is it that songs only get popular after Jonathan Leong sings it?
@ 4:10 AM
All wrongAh we didn't have the sleepover 'cause we were exhausted. Thus I cannot understand why I just spent the last few hours watching tv instead of packing my stuff. Nothing's packed yet. Some aren't even washed yet. Great.
I realised that whenever I'm touched to the point that tears form, there's this unexplainable sensation in my hands.
Gah, why is my gum freaking hurting?!
Wednesday, May 16, 2007 @ 1:19 PM
Sleep deprivedI tried sleeping and I actually did but two persons (employees) came in and though my head was off the desk when they saw me, I think I look blur enough for them to know I've been sleeping. Cannot like that.
Good place, good company, good food, good drinks last night. I think we burnt a big hole in her pocket. Heh, I guess that's one Raoul blouse less.
Damn, pain pain pain! :(
Tuesday, May 15, 2007 @ 4:52 PM
Almost half a day longSomething I heard this morning made me rethink about my priorities at present. It’s not that they are totally out of line or anything like that. Rather, I realised perhaps my top priority isn’t supposed to be way up there right now. There are more important, more necessary, more practical, more pressing issues/people/things that I ought to be giving more attention and weight to.
I’ll enjoy this week since everything has already been planned nicely and re-look at my priorities when I come back. Ah, maybe the plane ride will be a good time to think about it. Okay, one ride down since I reckon the ride there will probably be spent catching up on sleep. :)
First two games last night was, wow! I thought I was finally, well, a little more pro. But as the night became nighter (the word obviously doesn’t exist but whatever) it just became worse and worse and worse and worse. It’s kinda funny really ‘cause out of 10 times, 7 times it will turn out this way. Yet, I still want to go play pool again.
SY’s spontaneity is unmatched man. Like totally. Came out with me even though it was already 11pm when I asked and according to her, 11pm to 2am is the best time to sleep. But
everyone knows SY’s best time to sleep is
definitely not that period so I don’t feel guilty. =D
Surprisingly, or maybe not that surprisingly, it didn’t take that much to wake up today. But crap, I almost dozed off just a few seconds ago typing this. The screen saver actually appeared on the monitor. Grr. It’s gonna be quite a difficult day to sit through considering today is another day when I have absolutely nothing to do. Again.
I really hate myself for going to the ebuddy site at a completely wrong time. The url www.ebuddy.com was right in the middle, definitely in full view and in striking orange colour some more when she turned round. Damn! Am most surely not counting on her not seeing it. Even I would and seriously, I’m about the blur-est, don’t-take-notice-of-anything person around.
Oh have I mentioned that I know already who messes around my computer after I leave? It’s Nice Colleague! Like how nice right? I hope I’ll still be able to access ebuddy after I return from China now that she’s seen it.
My goodness, I just almost dozed off again. Boss is right opposite me can. Oh my oh my, the possibility of me being out after just one drink later is extremely high. The idea of skipping the drinks tonight seems like a good one.
I smell KFC! It’s making me hungry. No, I am hungry.
-break for lunch-
For dinner tonight, we’re gonna have energy bars! :) Leading a pauper’s life in the name of dieting. Just as well. We save money and we get energy! Haven’t eaten them since school ended which is a long long time ago. I miss eating during lessons (lectures and tutorials alike) and while walking from here to there/there to here, whatever.
I get some kind of thrill defying rules like that. I mean it’s not even that major but I just enjoy it. Perhaps that’s why I enjoy it. Like how I was always just on time for school but never running for assembly (my ct pointed that out very blatantly during PCCG), always late, always eating during lessons, being always one of the last to reach lectures, tutorials, or pe, playing basketball with blouse and borrowed FBTs, never wearing the badge, I even charge my mobile in class all the time! In fact, I started that trend in my class. By the second half of the year, even the teachers didn’t feel any surprised if they found two chargers plugged in at our corner.
But there was this one time where late-coming actually got me into plenty plenty of trouble. I was really
suay come to think of it. On that particular day, P was getting down really hard on the late-comers and well, I guess five times in half a year, considering I wasn’t even in the school for the first three months, is bad enough for her to demand to see my parents. Whoa I tell you, that parent meeting was the best of the worst I’ve encountered. I feel so loserish even thinking of it now. So the meeting was one hour long and I was reduced to crying and not much later, sobbing, a pathetic five minutes into that darn meeting. After that, I never ever said hi to her again (we would say hi bye and chat like friends before this). In fact, I would dodge if I saw her 50 metres away. Lucky I have a kaki in A. That presentation of awards was the most awkward ever and we walked off before she finished so she was saying in the microphone in front of the whole school, you two come back, or something along that line. Embarrassing!
Okay, I’m sleepy now. For real. I used my hand to prop my head up the past 10 minutes to pretend I’m reading what I’m typing. With my eyes closed. I’m telling myself right here right now that I will have short but quality sleep tonight because movie marathon and sleepover tomorrow! =D
Dang, I think I should not use MS Word to type an entry next time. The document is left open from morning to evening and I type whenever I want, of course with plenty of nap breaks in between, and the entry turns out crappily long. -.-
Monday, May 14, 2007 @ 4:21 PM
Here or there?Aiya, I was 80-20 but now it is 50-50. Why can't this be an easier? I will call Clever Cousin later tonight and start Mission Convince tomorrow.
Once again, I am bored.
@ 11:51 AM
4 days moreI'm excited about the vacation but not enough to start packing so early. Aunty did last night and i'm like WHAT?! It's wayyy too early.
Sian, I thought it was all over when Friday passed but Mint Cafe Manager called and sms-ed yesterday so I guess I will have to give a call and answer (still undecided) later. Just being a responsible kid.
Today, I stepped into the office with
absolutely nothing to do. The lack of cheques in my drawer has shown me how much my job depends on them. Okay, I did spend about 10 minutes on minor stuff but other than that, it's been the internet, minesweeper, eating bread and egg tart.
Other Colleague gave us 老婆饼 from Hong Kong. I loveee eating those man and I wish I can fly away to HK too. I want to go Disneyland! Oh, did you know DisneyWorld in the US is even bigger than Singapore? Like what the... Is Singapore really that tiny? How interesting it would be if I could find a summer job there. Bet Lynette had the time of her life!
A cake was just delivered here so yay! We are going to have tiramisu for tea. I am so tempted to watch tv online; the only thing that's stopping me is the spoilt speakers. Shh, I am also secretly charging my mobile.
Ah trying to find things to do but can't seem to find any. Want to read newspapers but Boss is coming in today and nobody knows exactly when. See, that's the thing about having all your bosses as volunteers. They come in as and when they like, unexpected like anything.
POOOOOOL!!! I'll sit through work for that.
Saturday, May 12, 2007 @ 11:16 PM
Why only now?Uncle was in such happy spirits today it was kinda freaky. He even vouluntarily gave those people a ride out. Now that's a first. One of them was a thin girl with sparse and fine hair, like how they portray cancer patients on tv. She was a young girl, couldn't have been older than 14 I reckon.
I also saw an old man pushing a trolley of cardboard cartons on the road barefooted. Barefooted in the mid day sun! How hot the roads must be! I should know. The sailing centre has ground like roads and gosh, it burns when it's sunny like how it was today. It is almost unbearable. No, it is unbearable.
Dang, guess what I received in the mail today. An NTU invitation to tea at Swissotel on the 20th. Great, just when I will be in China. Gah! I have half a mind to ask Sister S to attend it to see what it's all about or for the free food if anything. :)
@ 11:55 AM
Saturday workTime is passing extremely slowly. I just had a power nap. It's extremely boring. No one is online. I ate chips, finished cappuccino. Got sms but too lazy to reply. Other than doing a little filing, there's been only one call so far which is good because I absolutely hate answering calls. I am earning free money again. And Uncle has been very 客气 to me today.
This is how I work: When I come into the office, I will (almost) immediately start work and try to clear my stuff before lunch. After lunch, I will be onto the things I shouldn't be doing like blogging, surfing the net, playing minesweeper, chatting secretly, since I've already completed my tasks. Unless it's urgent, a piece of work that comes in in the afternoon will be pushed to tomorrow since I need to have something to do the next day anyway. Yeah, deadline for incoming work: lunch time (around 1pm). So today's filing was actually work that came in yesterday's afternoon. I like to think I'm an effective worker. =D
And every day around 4pm to 4.30pm, I will start feeling hungry 'cause the body has acknowledged that it's tea time! We (the body and I) need some food. Grr. It's a habit we have here in the office. Bad bad bad.
I just came back from the toilet. Such a relief!
I want to learn driving! I think I will go take my BTT sometime soon. Colleague said I should book a course instead of just going for the paper so that I can do a mock one before the real thing. Hmm. A's car only stalled 5 times during her first lesson. I thought that was good! Until she told me she only went up to third gear and was going at the maximum speed of 40km per hour. Heh.
Uncle's driving sucks. If your body don't jerk violently or bounce off your seat when he goes over a hump, you can declare that day your lucky day. That didn't happen but the morning has been going okay.
I think I will take another nap.
Oh oh oh! Donut Factory is going to have another outlet at Suntec!! =D
@ 9:44 AM
That 0.75 litreMy stomach is aching! I think the oats are showing its effects. 'High in Dietary Fibre' was written on the package.
Lesson learnt: One should never drink too much beer. I had my maiden experience puking after drinking last night. At a bus stop no less. No, behind the bus stop I mean. Damn loserish and bleargh. I don't ever want to do it again. I was definitely (a little) drunk. On beer. -.- Paulaner - does it make it a bit better? In my defence, I didn't overestimate myself. WH
lah! Only drank half of hers so I thought, so wasted, and down it went. Anyway, the live band at Paulaner is nice.
Before that, we went to Basil Alcove for dinner.
Not a nice place to dine but really value-for-money. A plate of pasta with
10 fresh prawns for $8.80. How worth it is that? Plus, the food was yummy and it was a big serving.
We are on this thing to discover good places to eat. Next up, Hog's Breath Cafe.
Thus, in the end, we didn't even go grocery shopping. Boo to us.
The office is so quiet, it's making me feel slightly wierded out. It's difficult to get used to this silence. I just made myself a nice cup of cappuccino (dang, I just looked in the wastebin to see how to spell that) and am going to start on Ruffles despite having on and off stomachaches and farting very often. Really ought to go to the toilet but I'm lazy to take the access card, close the door and walk there. Ah I shall just start on the Ruffles.
Friday, May 11, 2007 @ 3:25 PM
The immaturity.I chatted with Secondary 1 partner last night! The conversation wasn't stilted or anything so yay! Before going to bed, I went to look at the scrap paper again. Made me laugh 'cause I cannot imagine us being so childish back then.
I cannot fathom why my desk is in a perpetual mess today.
Nice Colleague left half a bag of Ruffles for me. =DDD
Working half day tomorrow because Mentor is going to watch Spiderman 3. What a nice girl I am.
Final decision: I don't think I will accept that job at the cafe. It's quite stupid to say, 'oh I want to have this job but I can only start in June!'. Like that, they might as well go find another person who can start right away.
Woots! Holland V or Dempsey the night before I leave. It's gonna be fun! Plus, there will be a person who drives. Heh.
Thursday, May 10, 2007 @ 11:23 PM
How coincidental can things be?Gosh, I just mentioned my Secondary 1 partner quite out of the blue in the early afternoon and she actually msn-ed me very out of the blue in mid-afternoon. How strange is that! The out of blue-ness of it all is a little difficult to accept. I didn't reply her though 'cause I was away at the new temple where, apparently the roof collapsed. Dang, it was
just a roof detail that crumbled into bits and pieces upon being struck by lightning. -.- Anyhow, I was a little upset I didn't get to chat with her 'cause I rarely see her online and even if I do, I don't talk to her. Plus, I've lost her mobile number! Friendster to the rescue?
Bumped into Ivy at Citylink. Such a coincidence because tomorrow I'm meeting a mutual friend whom she has unresolved issues with. Okay, quite unrelated. Then Chellie saw M in her very striking orange dress when she passed there too. That's why I always open my eyes big big whenever I walk there. Ninety percent of the time, you're bound to meet someone you know. Seriously, I really do have my eyes wide open.
Note note note: Secondary 1 partner has just come online! Should I start a conversation??
I discovered a YUMMYLICIOUS dessert. Grocery shopping tomorrow! Goodness, I sound so auntie. Auntie-dom welcomes me with open arms! =DDD
@ 1:14 PM
Absolute random-nessI've lost the ability to count money fast. :(
Going to have my first BK meal this year. Mushroom swiss! Yummy.
I was digging in my box a while back for secondary school assessment books and there were those Zo cards, greeting cards and pieces of paper from back then. I cannot believe I still have that tiny piece of scrap paper from Secondary 1 when my partner and I quarrelled. That incident was just utterly stupid on my part. Anyhow, the paper was already crumpled then, now it's crumpled and soft. Which reminds me, when I was in primary school, I liked to crumple a perfect piece of white/foolscap paper until it's all soft then write stuff on it 'cause I thought it was creative. -.-
Today, I shall read the Reader's Digest instead of mindless surfing on the internet.
Wednesday, May 09, 2007 @ 11:40 PM
It's a matter of whether you want itYes! I think I just secured my second job! After weighing the pros and cons, I've decided on Mint Cafe. Easy to go from Loyang, cosy place, nice manager and what's more, Manager said along with other things, they will teach me how to make cocktails! I suppose there isn't a huge variety but still.. =DDD
Quite looking forward to starting work but I need to get some black pants before that. Also, Nice Colleague said today I will be doing events come June. Can't wait for that too.
Hmm. Kinda wonder how I am going to fit in those orientation camps.
They were silent when I stepped in. Shucks. I should have shut my trap. I promise never to participate in that crap again.
@ 2:31 PM
Bored!Ayy I've nothing to do! My two colleagues are out recce-ing Hotel 81 at Chinatown. I heard there's a free 1 hour trial at Hotel 81 for anyone. Hmm.
Oh dear! Something just happened at the new temple! The roof collapsed. Uh huh.
Okay, none of my business.
With all the free time in the world, I actually did up my Myspace profile a few minutes ago.
My tutee is such an irritant. Fancy sms-ing me this morning to have lesson this evening. Now I know not how I will go for the Mint Cafe interview. And the thing is I have to tutor him today 'cause tomorrow is his exam. Grr.
Tuesday, May 08, 2007 @ 12:09 PM
Cruel world out thereI cannot believe her boss did that. Terminating her contract by saying she made plenty of mistakes and didn't want to work any more. Such a loser. It pays so low anyway. Her loss!
My colleague just told me the password to her computer. Heeheehee.
Lucky me. Never reply Brusselssprouts so early. Interview at Mint Café tomorrow. :)
Monday, May 07, 2007 @ 6:22 PM
Still in the officeSucks to know that you missed the cut by one pathetic grade.
@ 12:02 AM
Heck itI am going on a vacation! I love Ah Ma! =D Since we're going to the Three Gorges, I wish I actually have a SLR.
But no money! But wait till I have more money. Never mind, I still have my old trusty film camera besides the digicam to depend on. Yeah, I prefer film cameras. The pictures seem more real.
Feeling excited 'cause we're going to stay 3 nights on a cruise ship. =D I haven't stepped on a ship since Primary 4. Hope there will be a casino where I can enter and, err, gamble. A bit. I only realised this year why then even at the age of Primary 4, we could enter the casino and play jackpot - we were on a casino ship. And I won 100bucks only to lose all of it plus 5bucks borrowed from I-can't-remember-who at the same jackpot machine. -.-
Everyone is going to NTU! :( And how come I didn't receive an invite to go Swissotel for tea??
My lcd screen is screwing up on me. I was praying and hoping it wouldn't conk out 'cause how am I supposed to surf net/blog/chat then! Thank goodness, it's working. For now. I won't let it go to sleep again.
I hope no one will leave to study abroad. Sailing gathering may be postponed and not cancelled after all! =D
=D > :( = -.-. I think it's going to be quite a good day!
Saturday, May 05, 2007 @ 11:40 PM
DamnI didn't get into any business course. I think it could be because I shouted in the temple the other day. Some more it was the Goddess of
Mercy temple. Ugh.
Brusselssprouts is nice. But everything's still tentative seeing that I can only reach there at 7 on weekdays. Oh well, at least I had an interesting conversation with the cab driver going there.
Ah ma just asked me to go to China with her! And I was just saying I want to travel. But but but, if I start on the above job, how to take leave? Plus, I will be losing about $400 of income for that week. That's beside the point. I will also be missing the sailing gathering! Sucky timing.
This is a little freaky; I think I sleep-did something last night. I remember feeling cold and wanted something to cover myself. So I got something, something that was terribly small 'cause I felt cold again and realised that there was the blanket. I even remember thinking, 'why the heck didn't I just use the blanket in the first place?'. Never mind. I slept till this morning, didn't realise anything wrong till my mom asked me why I removed the pillow case. Errr. Yeah I vaguely remember doing that and using it to cover my legs. Seriously, who in the right (conscious) mind would take out a pillow case to cover herself when she's cold? Man, I don't want to be a sleep___ person.
P.s. The sailing gathering is off. Guess that will make my decision a tad easier?
@ 11:50 AM
Woot!I finally hit the big 4. No doubt it's gonna drop to 3 very soon but still, it's nice to finally see the digit 4. =D
Am a little apprehensive about the interview later. I didn't dare to tell Mom. I just said I was going to meet friends.
Anyway, on a random note, Daddy touched my little toes today! Heh.
Thursday, May 03, 2007 @ 12:01 PM
To: You know who you are :)You always knew when to step in, always could find the correct words to say. You saw through all of these, gave words that knocked some sense into me. Like always.
Dear friend, you have given me strength, made me that much wiser.
For all that you have done, I thank you. You have made a difference.
Wednesday, May 02, 2007 @ 11:32 PM
You know, I wish I'd just stop this craziness.
But I just can't.
@ 2:25 PM
Shucks.I forgot to delete my internet history, files and cookies before I left on Monday and someone obviously touched my computer after I'm gone. I hope that person didn't find out anything especially this blog.
YAY! I have an interview for a waitressing job this Saturday though I don't know now if they're still that keen on employing me 'cause I told them I am working. Grr.
@ 1:59 AM
Just a thoughtYou know how American tv shows portray best friends - really really tight and always there.
I wish I can find someone like that.
Tuesday, May 01, 2007 @ 11:00 PM
This is kinda sadI'm not talking to the very people I want to matter to me.
I ought to keep my expenses in check.
Colleague is looking for a part-time job. Then I suggested we work in the night scene. After all, she was once a bartender who even did flaring for a competition. BUT husband's in the way. Gah.
The temple today was just TERRIBLE. All the people and the pushing to donate money. Heartwarming isn't it? That for once it's not to take but give. We had this whole family lunch thing today for the most random of reasons. Enjoyed it.
P.s. Caught up, albeit just for a while, with a dear friend. That's a start.
@ 9:30 AM
Of familyI'm blessed.
I didn't regret foregoing pool for yesterday's in-the-name-of-socialising dinner.
Listened to another friend-became-wasted story and it was hilarious. The things drunk people do.
