Thinking time

I love taking buses to wherever I go; the journey gives me a chance to reflect on what I've been doing, events etc. Especially long bus rides.

When I was coming home from Punggol on Sunday after training, I passed by Hougang Swimming Complex. I want to go back to swimming again. Competitive swimming to be exact. I miss the plunging in from the starting blocks, the turns and how I could swim a lap or several laps at a relatively fast time without any real difficulty. Then, I remembered how I'm regretting giving up learning how to play the organ after failing the grade seven examination. I want to be able to play music. The last time I tried playing a song on the organ, I couldn't even coordinate between my left and right hands, much less my legs. But those are things I won't pursue any more. Now, it is sailing and I'm going to put in my best till the nationals so I won't end up regretting it when my sailing career finally ends then.

This happened last year too. I was all unenthusiastic about sailing when something striked me.I wanted to be top MJ girl sailor and I was able to achieve that for the inter-schools. It will happen again this year. Mark my words.

And today, as I was in the bus from Tampines back home, the reality of my atrocious results finally hit right smack in my face. So far, three teachers have talked to me about it. One of them even told my friend to advise me to stop slacking and get down to studying. That's how serious a state I am in. I'm almost certain to get three Fs because by sheer luck, I've passed GP, albeit merely. It's depressing as even though I know I'm failing because I didn't put in the effort, I don't know where to start now. It seems to be a finality that cannot be avoided.

Short update:
- Finally got to meet up with Sabrina and Sheena. Had lunch with them and Janice at Swensons on Friday. A lot has changed. There were two new staff and now they have to meet targets. It was amusing to see how they were jostling to get our business.

- Block test is over and we're getting the results now.

- Went out with Amanda, Megan, Shauna and Pei Mun today. Watched V for Vendetta. Didn't really get the story but it was nice no doubt. I'll bet I can get it after I read the review later.

Jitters

I'm having butterflies in my stomach already.
All because I procrastinated too much and didn't study.

Why The Woman is more powerful

I had the worst cramps yesterday. It was so bad, I was breaking out in cold sweat. After 2 hours of trying to endure the pain, I gave in to Panadol pills.

It is so unfair.

The woman has to go through 'The Period' every month.
It makes us check our behind a little bit more. And don't forget the cramps. The painful cramps that makes you just not want to live any more.

The woman has to go through childbirth.
Again, a terribly painful process. And throughout the whole thing, The man stands beside you to give you moral support? What happened to 'no pain, no gain'?

Why does The woman have to go through all the pain but The man does not?

At long last

I've got a new handphone (finally)! My dream phone - the Sony Ericsson K750i. The sleek, black phone with a 2 mega-pixels camera and large memory space. From now on, I don't have to use that big, chunky, won't-ever-spoil-no-matter-how-many-times-you-dropped-it Nokia 3310. Yay-ness. And it's going to be mine, really mine because I'm going to pay for it. See, the vacation job was not for nothing.

Thank goodness we missed the dateline too apply for the National Vertical Marathon 2006. Otherwise, I would have to climb 60-odd storeys of stairs today which, now I know, is beyond me. On Thursday, the lone operating lift at my block broke down (the other is being upgraded). Holy cow. So up the stairs I went; all 19 storeys of it. When I reached home, my knees were aching and I was panting like crap. Yeah, that's how fit I am.

My right bicep feels solid now. Know why? 'Cause there's a freaking mosquito bit the size of a 50-cent coin on it. My house is infested with mosquitoes! Okay maybe not that bad. But there is this one or two or maybe 3 or even maybe 4 mosquitoes who just keeps sucking my blood at night. I suspect it/they are pregnant. Oh my oh my, will it ever get better?

Scary scary eyes

Terribly red eyes, that's what I got. Same old reason; as always, sailing competition. Only yesterday, I was so paiseh about taking the prize that I didn't take it at all. I really didn't deserve it. Instead, I told Dekai to take it for me. What a loser I am. Most of the races were in strong wind and strong wind = bad scores for Teresa. And by sheer luck (tyco) and because Manyi wasn't sailing, I actually got second for girls.

So no kick, so no honour, so embarrassing.

The Day for my mates

The A'level results came out today. MJ did really well; we had like some 92% of the whole cohort being able to enter university. No wonder Ms Lai gave us such an early day today and it is also rumoured that Friday is going to be a holiday. See, rabbits are clever ok!

Most of my friends got at least an A on that cert. To think they were the ones coming out of the hall lamenting that the paper was so difficult, they might as well jump off a building and die. Sarah didn't do that well though. She got C D D so now we are just looking through the different options.

Mr Teo also talked to me today about how I've been doing at school. He said I'm an A student. An A student! Right, can you believe it? (Just a note here: he hasn't seen anything more than a F on my test/exam scripts ever) Even I can't remember when was the last time I scored an O for Physics. Actually, I suspect it has never happened before. He knew that I wasn't putting in the effort since I couldn't answer even the simplest definition questions correctly. (The power of teachers!)

So I'm going to start being more dilligent and intelligent from -uhh- next week. I want history to repeat itself. And I'm referring to my very successful - in my words - O'level results of course.
