39 hours and countingBrrr. It is a cold and wet day. Like yesterday. Just the perfect day to stay home and while time away but of course I am not that lucky.
It wasn't all that bad though.
Siyan and I went over to Amanda's house last night to do the teachers' day gifts (a model sailboat and a book) and that took the whole night. So yes, we didn't sleep a wink and Eeyore had to endure being squeezed into a small bag for nothing. :) I thought it was quite fun (okay, such things always give me some kind of a high) though at about four to five a.m., we were all just exhausted, totally not in the mood, and just wanted desperately to complete the stuff.
At least we got to hear both of them play 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' on the violin, Amanda on the piano and I vaguely recall hearing about some classical theory stuff though I can't quite remember anything 'cept for 'triad' and a word starting with 'q'. Strange that I never did learn most of those theory terms they mentioned. Is it because organ is more pop than classical? Now I am inspired to brush up my organ-playing, learn how to play the guitar and also have theory lessons, after the A'levels that is.
I thought it quite amusing that many times, Siyan thought that Amanda and I were pissed with each other when we were merely talking or discussing. Amanda pointed out a fact yesterday which I never took notice of till then - we don't talk when we are pissed with each other. And - okay I'm ashamed to admit this - usually I am the one initiating the 'cold war'.
*****
Digressing, Amanda read an entry I typed way back in February last year about how I thought I was losing this friendship (I think) when I was in the library with her a few days back. My my, I was so embarrassed. But I was also thinking, 'wow! I could just type about such sensitive stuff with all names and details laid bare in the past!'. Now, here is filled with initials or ambiguous words like 'you', 'a friend', 'she', 'he', 'another friend' etc etc etc. How impersonal this place is becoming, and a blog is supposed to be an online
diary.
Diary: A book for use in keeping a personal record, as of experiences.
I will try to change.

The teachers' reactions upon receving our gifts today made everything worthwhile. All of them thought the sailboats were impressive. Ms KKL was the best. We could really see that she was happy. Ms S too. I just had to tease her about the very successful self portrait I took. She said it was an illegal shot. Both of them began flipping through the book as soon as we left. I thought that was sweet; it showed they appreciated it. Mr C was being quite sentimental since this is his last day here. To think we only knew of it this morning. Mr A, I don't know. He seemed very indifferent.
Side note: I wonder what the floorball team got for Ms S.

The class picnic after the celebration was an absolute failure so my classmates and I went for lunch at Pizza Hut. Then, it was three hours of pool again! Yay-ness. I think I have improved a tiny weeny bit. :) Only thing is, I have in my posession now a bruised and swollen finger that is so painful I can't exactly straighten it properly. All because I accidentally rammed it into the table while attempting to break. So stupid.
I have officially broke my previous record of 29 hours of staying awake without sleep. It has been about 39 hours since I last slept and I don't feel very sleepy. Odd.
9.40pm: Just received a sms from Ms KKL. 'To my dearest sailors: Thanks so much for the lovely present and messages. Am really touched and encouraged! Study hard for the prelims and excel in them too!'
See! She does appreciate them! That has just made today a good day to a great day!

I hate myselfI really do.
I just spent five hours playing minesweeper. And even though my finger joints are hurting so much from all that clicking, I'm still going, all because I haven't gamed once.
And now I have to stop to eat dinner and I feel so uneasy. It's like when I am going to enter an examination room or something like that.
Crap. Is that the first sign of addiction?
But I can't let the last five hours go to waste! I need to game once!
@ 12:18 PM
The problem with a class picnicI have been tasked to gather a small group of people to bring some finger food on Thursday.
So far, from the four I have asked. One is not allowed to use the stove. Another is busy. Another says ok but is undecided on what yet. Another didn't reply.
God, I hate people who don't reply.
@ 9:59 AM
DamnI need a study partner because all I ever do is end up here.
Maybe Cher will be good.

SentimentalismA friend asked me, "when you are fifty, will you still remember your last pe lesson?".
She was amused that I took a cab to school just to have fifteen minutes of my very last pe lesson.
Why do people take pictures for? Why do people keep things that can be considered worthless?
For memories, that's what.
I still have my Geography, Chemistry and Chinese notes from Secondary three and four. There is a big box packed with storybooks I read when I was a kid. Not forgetting the many stupid, useless little knick knacks around the house that I have attached a certain part of my life to. Thank God for my mom and of course, the vast amount of storage space, or else my home would have turned into a junkyard eons ago.
So I'm this sentimental and (quite) emotional person. I remember and I feel.
Who knows, perhaps fifty years down the road, I will still be able to recall how fun my last pe lesson was, how I thought it was truly an unforgettable one indeed.

My friend and I were just talking about our granddads. Both of us lost them this year. I remembered I cried like nothing when the he was being brought to the hospital. He hadn't even seen the photos we took on our vacation together three days ago. Then, when all the calls started coming in (from my parents, uncles and aunties), I didn't dare answer any because I was afraid. Such a cowardly ass I was. And I say that also because later in the morgue, I didn't dare touch him for the last time. Damn, I wish I was that much braver. Like my friend. Like my sisters.

Very last PE lesson of my life

Random pictures
I didn't feel good when I reached home just now. It was that kind of uneasiness where I knew something was going to happen but didn't know what. And true enough, something did happen - my friend's granddad died.
Today (yesterday) wasn't the best this week even though my classmates were more happening than ever. We spent more than a hour taking photos and together with a few random pictures of mine, they totalled a record high of 109 images! But there was just that something lacking in making it an almost perfect day.
Maybe it was due to disappointment. Maybe it was due to tiredness. Maybe it was due to the fact that a couple of friends weren't having the best time of their lives. Maybe, maybe, maybe.
There is also a person who is almost impossible to read so I shan't bother no more. Did try though.
During class today, my CT asked us to write down our dreams and aspirations and I wrote down ten.
1. Backpack around the world
2. Be a social worker
3. Be a pilot
4. Learn and master Hokkien and Cantonese
5. Maintain old friendships and develop new ones
6. Re-learn organ and learn how to play the guitar
7. Stay abroad for a while
8. Bungee jump or sky dive
9. Have some sort of competition throughout my life
10. Be in a coma
I wonder how many I will achieve.

So many pics, so little timeI just realised, while sorting out all the pictures I've taken the past three days, that I have taken at least forty shots a day! And I'm too lazy to put it all in a collage tonight so the weekend it is.
This week has been so unproductive. Everyday, I seem to have something to do after school so I come home late. Then I'll be tired but not so tired so I'll not go to sleep. And when 10pm comes, I'll take out my stuff, go on my bed, try to focus but end up lying across my sis's and my bed sms-ing then sleeping. Everyday!
A crane toppled at the construction site just beside my block yesterday. At 4am, they were still trying to get the crane. I don't know why I was so stupid but I actually stood at the balcony for a whole hour just to watch them. At 4am! Crappy.
So the inevitable happened. I overslept today. And today happens to be the day I have my very last PE lesson of my life. No way am I going to miss it man. I burnt ten dollars on cab just so that I can at least make it for the very last bit of PE and I did! Woohoo! Totally didn't regret doing it.
My CT played 'Burn' by Messina Jo Dee during PCCG. That got to me.
Anyhow, this week is turning out great! It's the best week ever! It's good to smile. =)

And I declare this week photos week!
In our homeroom

Random pictures with classmates and people I meet almost everyday
Many taken today. More to be taken throughout this week! I truly love my K750i!
Ah crap. The computer is proving very difficult to resist. Two hours today. Seven and half hours left. I have a feeling I am not going to keep my word again.
Monday, August 21, 2006 @ 8:56 PM
Today is another fantabulous day!We had phototaking today! I'm so going to buy all the pictures. Gosh, that was so fun. The photographers this year are way more professional than those from the photography club last year. Last year's were just very amateur. And they were making us do all those wierd poses (I had to stand over the legs of a classmate who was sitting down). By the fourth or fifth shot, we were all pespiring like crap but it was all in good fun. The pictures turned out great! =)
Why do some people type (: instead of :) of :) instead of (:? Whichever. Does it mean something? Perhaps like those who use :) look at eyes then smile of a person and those who use (: do vice versa?
Okay, that was a random thought.
Shit, half an hour on the computer already. Nine and half hours left this week.
Out.

MuggerI broke a promise to myself. I promised myself that I would be a super mugger (in the studying sense, of course) this weekend but all I have succeeded in doing is a few Stats questions and spending lots and lots of time on the Internet.
Okay, I have just searched
dictionary.com and 'mugger' is not a word. And 'mug' in any sense of the word doesn't even hint study. Hmm, how did we manage to create that?
I am going to make a promise to myself again. I am limiting my computer usage to ten hours a week, starting next week. That is less than two hours a day! Man, it's going to take a lot of determination. Let's see how that goes.
The last day of computer freedom. The computer is mine today!

SMILE!Because the school term is going to end so very soon and the opportunity to see your mates around school is diminishing by the day.
I said a fair number of 'hi!' today. I think some of my friends are beginning to think I'm scary since I'm usually the person going round school looking glum who never says her 'hi!'s and 'bye!'s. Aye. I have resolved to be a nice, smiley and cheery person next week.
The last week of the term has finally arrived! Only this time, I don't really look forward to it. It means so many things.
- Prelims is here.
- A'levels is another step closer.
- Real school is ending.
- No more seeing of random people.
- No more fooling around. This time for real.
Today's Chemistry consultation was so fun! That is such the inappropriate word to use but really, it was! I think I laughed most during that. This Wong is so much better than the other Wong. The other Wong plain sucks.
Anyway, my efforts to eat less the past four days have come to naught! I pigged out today! Crappy.
And the menu for today: A few spoonfuls of tao suan, a few pieces of tapioca, two carrot bread, a few cookies, a few bites of high fibre wheat, dried noodles, strawberry ice cream, some yam rice, a plate of tofu soup, durians.
Ten courses for today! Oh, and I forgot to add a huge mug of pure lemon juice. I would have taken another lemon if not because I've ran out of them.
Note to self: Load up on lemons and more chocolates tomorrow!
Thursday, August 17, 2006 @ 7:58 PM
Today's a great day!Lalala!
Now I feel so stupid about yesterday's entry, I feel like deleting it but no, I shan't. The things I say when I'm feeling oh-so-emo.
Thank you for sending me those messages and making me see the light. Yes, there's not much time left so we should just SMILE!
Okay, today is a great day because I had enough sleep last night (the first this week!) so I didn't have any mood swings today which means I was pretty much happy the whole day even though I didn't do my assignments nor studied for the Chemistry Mock Paper and had only a pathetic half page of answers. Woohoo! I tried saying that sentence in a breath and I struggled. Damn, need to go swimming more often.
Since I'm a happy girl, I went chocolates shopping just now. Besides, I really need to lessen some of my guilt for doing absolutely nothing last night. A huge bar of dark chocolate is waiting for me! Yay. And I bought another bar to console a friend, and another for relieving my guilt for having her proficiency card in the other side of the world (it's coming back soon!), and another to emphasise what Gilbert Tan said at the talk - the extra pounds don't matter, just eat!
I think a mama shop is going to be opened at my block soon!
Lalala. It's a fabulous day!

Freaking tummy problemsMonday and Tuesday: Diarrhoea - Empty stomach - Gastric pain.
Today: Noodles - Milo - Little raisin buns - Tea reception food - Gastric pain.
I give up
lah. Eat or don't eat, it is still the same. And I've stopped drinking lemon juice a week ago.
I am beginning to believe what fengshui masters say about the year ahead for your Chinese horoscope on those new year shows on Chinese New Year's eve. I am almost living out what they said.
Freak! I can't believe SY's level one card is halfway round the world in the US. So guilty. Tomorrow (or maybe tomorrow tomorrow) she is going to have chocolates.
I have been buying chocs for people after doing crap stuff that make me feel guity.
Me guilty = Chocolates for you. Want some?
It is Wednesday and I can officially announce, this is hell week. Have not been feeling all that well (see above) and been having severe mood swings. Yesterday, it got kind of out of control and I took it out on my classmate during pe. Gosh, I still cannot believe I did that. There is really almost nothing to smile about.
Tuesday, August 15, 2006 @ 7:14 PM
Just between friendsHonesty is key, don't you think? I appreciate it when my friends come around and be truthful about how (bad) I have been. However, catch me in a bad mood and what I say is usually so brutally honest, I want to slap myself after I sober up and think about it. Unfortunately, that occurs extremely often now because (a tired me) = (moody me).
But I also know that my good friends will not get mad when I am honest and will also be terribly honest with me such that it hits me right in the face.
To you (all), I really do treasure you alot alot.
I didn't recognise you today. Didn't recognise myself either.

Hello pandaWalked into school today zombified, with heavy foot steps and panda eyes. Left school pretty much the same except the fact that my mouth got tired too.
@ 12:36 AM
Observations of people(me)I just printed some 30 articles for GP tomorrow. It is a National Day holiday assignment given weeks ago. And 30 isn't even enough yet. Heck it, I'm tired. There's still the Chemistry papers that I've not touched since the other day. Which means it's still 90% blank.
Ah heck it, I'm tired.
Observation number one: We push things to the last minute and even at the last minute, we procrastinate so much that little or nothing gets done.
Mahjong last night was awesome! Seven of our primary school school/classmates were at my house to just hang out. This is probably my first time since primary school that I've seen all of them, except for a TK schoolmate and another ex-sailor. All of them changed so much. I think the TK schoolmate, the ex-sailor, my sis and me are probably the only ones still looking as plain (not in every sense of the word) as ever.
So five left at 3am, two left at 7am and Dana and Matthew slept on the beds so my sis and I were left with the armchairs. Which I wasn't complaining by the way, because sleeping upright was the only way I could wake up one hour later after a whole night of mahjong and only four hours of sleep the night before.
Yes, a miserable one hour of sleep before sailing today. But sailing rocked! Weelee was there to coach some picos and he was saying, 'trainings don't want to come then now rent boat and sail'. Oh well. I'm never going to take a pico again! It is so freaking slow and heavy can!
Observation number two: We never cherish till it is gone.
I made a recent discovery - many of my friends smoke which is so so bad. I think it borders on being ____ (I can't think of a word right now). Why spend so much money on something that tastes and smells so bad?
Observation number three: People spend money on the odd-est things.
I didn't eat much today. Just a Quaker bar, a pack of Nutrisoy and a little
mee sua. Oh and a couple of M&Ms. And I didn't even plan on dieting, just didn't feel hungry. Woohoo! You know, my partner in Secondary four once said that I go on so many diets, I can just be a consultant.
Observation number four: Women are (I am) always on a diet! Have you ever heard of a woman who hasn't been on a diet ever?
Saturday, August 12, 2006 @ 10:29 PM
I love a screwed body clock!Because when you sleep super late and wake up super late, you just don't eat that much. I was satisfied with my diet today until my grandma 'forced' me to eat dinner. I even had Nutrisoy reduced sugar to skip dinner but alas! I missed my Nutrisoy. Ah I shall go have a whole lemon for juice now. Surely all that acid will do something.
On the other hand, my sleeping hours are so crappy, I'm barely having five hours of sleep every night. No, make that four. Come school on Monday, I'm going to be that big fat panda that once only existed in China.
While I was walking home just now, a whole row of night cyclists passed me by. They looked so zai can. Think helmets, biking clothes, and blinking lights. I swear I will want to do that someday! I mean night. And I shall attempt to cycle all around Singapore. Of course that will only happen after I get my butt down to running, swimming, doing whatever cardio activities to get my stamina up and of course losing weight, which I think is probably never.
I'm proud to announce that I actually did Math after being thrashed at yahoo pool last night in the wee hours of the morning!
Night + Morning = Oxymoron?
But there's still three Chemistry Paper 3 to do. Shit man, I'm never going to finish them in time.
Going sailing tomorrow! I can't wait!
Friday, August 11, 2006 @ 11:50 PM
It's my turn nowObviously, some people (read: TJ sailors) are still living in the past.
Move on, people (read: TJ sailors)!
It's A'levels now.
No more Nationals!
Goodness, it's my turn again!
Now people, sing with me!
I'm lovin' it!
Thursday, August 10, 2006 @ 1:40 PM
Rain rain come againIt is times like this that I begin to think about how it would be like to be out at sea with those terrifying winds and huge waves.
Heeling. Unstable. Desperately trying to keep the boat flat but to no avail. Arms struggling to control the rudder. Rocks one time, two times. -pa!- capsize. Literally thrown off the boat. Turns turtle. Upright.
And the cycle repeats over and over again till it comes to a point when I wonder if I am ever going to make it back.
But always I did. Energy drained from going through all of that for at least 5 times (on the average).
When is that ever going to happen again?
Tuesday, August 08, 2006 @ 8:57 PM
Hello to you (all)!I had the most shocking revelation today - the whole of TJ sailing team knows about this blog. Brilliant, just brilliant. All that I have said about them have been read by them. Well, no need to try to hide now because there is no one more than anyone, right? I now know who is 'pei' and who is the one who added me on MSN (which I initially thought was my junior till it all came to me) though she said she didn't. This encounter is indeed very strange and oddly surreal to say the least.
I think I am addicted to pool. Not the yahoo one - which I am actually quite a pro at - but the real life one which I am
quite very horrid at. Played close to four hours just now. Four hours! All that
time wasted fun! Met Ashwin, caught up with him and realised he isn't that good boy I have always imagined him to be.
Quackie to Eeyore: Study then pool someday this week on
ah!

The other half flew backMy computer is up and running again after three long weeks of rest. But (there is always a 'but') I'm now staring at a monitor devoid of all colour except black, grey and yellow. Just great. Plus the guy said it is likely to crash again in the coming months.
Ah, it is time for a new computer! Sorry Compaq, you just ain't good enough to last forever.
In the last 3 weeks, I have gotten back my mid year examination results which isn't spectacular. In fact, it is downright bad. Frisbee and basketball for PE ended too quick too soon. Trivial stuff. But I totally enjoyed it 'cause it was one of the few times I fel the class (girls') spirit. My (rich) Thai relatives came and went. One of them owns a restaurant at Seattle which counts Bill Gates as their customer. The richest man on earth dining at their restaurant - unbelievable! Another seemed as though she was born to be a
towkay-neo. She looks it and acts it, no kidding. Back in Thailand, she was the ultimate customer - she gives tips to everyone, and I mean everyone, who served her. And my sister is back from China! She came home with loads of stuff including an oil painting, a slimmer albeit flabbier physique and a better command of Chinese. All that after three months.
I was just reading the tagboard (after three weeks) and I must say I'm quite amused and curious. Amused because someone practically echoed my title which has been there for eons. Curious because who is 'pei'? I have someone in mind but oh no no I so hope it is not her.
Pei, reveal yourself please? Just to satisfy my curiosity. :)
