That thing from the pastI did the same again today but I felt totally uneasy and insecure afterwards. What a far cry from the past! Think after this time, I will never ever do it again- totally not worth the terrible feeling post-act.

The Mambo songs have come onThat can only mean one thing. Actually two. Unfortunately this time it's the sadder one. I have been depressing the entire day because I can't get over the fact that it was
I who destroyed her chances. It was
I with the blabbering mouth. It was
I who didn't think before she speaks. I hear the non-committment in his voice and I knew her stack of papers may just reach the bin the moment they reach his hands. It was
I who did that.

It's that time againAhh time passes so quickly! Next week is recess week already! And what does that mean? Mid-terms are just around the corner! That and the deadlines for term papers. BOOO. I'm going to start ranting again about how 90% of my friends have already started studying and me? Holiday-ing because it's still the Chinese New Year hence I cannot study 'cause 'study' in Chinese is tu2 shu1 and shu1 sounds the same as 'lose' in Chinese. Oh what the crap! I will go and do an attractive resume to secure me an internship come Thursday or Friday.

In a computer lab now for statistics tutorial. He is teaching us how to use Eviews- a statistics software. I hope it won't be as tough as that Mathlab one which, honestly was no help to my calculations at all. Gah. I think the school purposely gets the super noisy keyboards so that students can't secretly chat online. But we still do it anyhow. I was late again for this tutorial. I think I have been late for 80% of my lessons since school started. Very very bad. Need to keep this bad habit in check.

Picture of the week 1
Okay so I have decided to put pictures that I have taken that I like just in case my lappy crashes or something. I haven't been using MSN 'cause Vista has been acting up on me since a long time ago. This one was shot while crusing down Changjiang (as with many more). The scenery there allows any photographer, even the most amateur ones, to take wonderful photos.
Of all the photos, the one I am proudest of is one I took of the Jumbo Seafood Restaurant in Hong Kong while being ferried there on this bumboat. I was so impressed with myself because it was taken with a film camera and it came out absolutely postcard worthy. (: But I don't quite have the slightest idea where it is now so uhhh errrmm yeah. =X

The year passed- 2007I must say it's probably one of my most exciting years. I learnt a lot, made new friends, did new things, realised what mattered to me- I pretty much lived a life I had never lived before.
There was work where I saw first hand how ugly office politics is and at the same time, learnt how to deal with them. That plus the fact that an effective worker gains trust easily. I still go back to visit them occasionally because you never know how random people can help you in the future. There was a time during the middle of the year where I worked doubly hard, giving tuition after work on four out of five workdays and one weekend. I remember feeling a great amount of satisfaction because it was a challenge I set myself and overcome. Oh of course also because of the chinks chinks that were coming in but that's secondary.
Then there was school. A whole new environment all over again. It didn't help that I only knew one friend (who I didn't even talk much to before) who was going to the same faculty as me. That made me question my decision as in the case of TJC and MJC. I cannot say I have regretted but neither can I say I didn't. I made new friends and I do love them. They play hard, study hard and even ask you to please start studying (no time already! they say). I dare not say I have made many friends but I have company during every break, lecture and even study sessions and that's enough for me.
I also began to discover the night life- suppers, drinking and clubbing. I even tried a smoke. But I think I somehow grew bored of them. Okay, maybe not the drinking but the rest... Even Mambo became nary an incentive for me to party the night away. It could be due to Papa starting to cook dinner. I tried to come home for dinner whenever I could because I saw how eating dinner together bonded our family together. I must admit I also yearned for it because the last time we had family dinners regularly was probably a decade ago. Or it could be because it was too much money to sustain such a lifestyle. I was spending on average $500 a month and all from my already shallow pocket! Thank goodness I had tuition assignmens to keep some money coming in.
2007 was the year I realised the importance of my family and now, I dare say I choose my family over anything any time. It was probably one the most peaceful years family-wise. There were few conflicts and if any, were resolved in a matter of a day or two. It wasn't always like this. Dad and Mom are getting along so well and I'm happy for them. In the past I often wondered why they say Taurus and Virgo are most compatible but now I see. I think age has something to do with it. Even for me, the past year made me treasure the people around me more. I made a constant effort to keep in contact with my friends, scheduling to meet at least one friend a week even at my busiest- it was something I would never have done earlier. These are the people I know will stand by me just as I will do for them.
Now 21- finally on the edge of adulthood. I have matured no doubt. One very obvious indicator is finally getting down to clearing our table after so many years. I am also trying to renew friendships from before. I know it makes friendships sound a little like insurance policies but as I said earlier, I never did bother to stay in contact with many people. As A said yesterday, 'we are 21 and I first known you when I was 12'. The first thing that occured to me was we're getting old! But that's not important. That's 9 long years. I told her we'll celebrate our 10th year next year. (: I want to have more of this.
Pray hope 2008 will be equally fun-filled and fulfilling!

Awesome!I'm having one of the best Chinese New Year I've ever had. (: But had to turn down two friends' invitations to dinner 'cause they clashed with my other dinners. Gah. I haven't gone to
bai nian at my friends' before.

And I'm extremely proud of my room now. Thank goodness we managed to get it spick and span before Chinese New Year. After endless hours of packing, we have finally tidied this table which had 3 years of paper and dust on it, installed shelves, cleared our book case and other random stuff. The only thing left is the wardrobe which is filling up at a very fast rate but the mess is hidden so oh well.

See, people don't like you now.Sigh. What did you do M? Suddenly I hear she finds you irksome down to every detail. Suddenly I hear things I never ever did think you would do. You guys were chummy with each other, not like S 'cause she didn't even have the chance to. It's such a waste because she is such a great friend, someone who will stick out for you. I know that. And you know what, I couldn't help but to agree with her because not too long ago, I was feeling the exact same way about you. As I said before, she puts it so perfectly.

I'm loving my Monday breaks because it seems everybody else is having 6 to 8pm lessons too so we study and have dinner before we go our separate ways. Which is absolutely fine and dandy with me 'cause even though I am confined to Arts this sem, I hardly ever meet them! I have no idea why.
Am currently listening to Mambo music for therapy and I could really use a drink. Life hasn't been too happy.

CNY is 3 days away! =DDDI got to know yet another scholar on Friday. He's really knowledgable and it impressed me to no end when we talked. Very capable too. What's with me and knowing all them smarty pants and not being anything like them. -.-
Oh and Elly (she was so nice as to stay back to
pei me!) and I made an unexpected discovery- her mom is S's ex-boss. It was hilarious being the middle person yet again, listening to both sides of the story. I don't know why I have a knack for getting into such situations. Like last time when Sam, JN, her sister J, Sis R and I got together. It was interesting hearing about JN and her sis from Sam and Sis R. Oh well maybe that's what the mole on my lower lip mean since I seldom gossip.
Haven't bought new clothes and heels/flats/pumps/shoes/whatever. And the desk is still unpacked. And the goodies are still unbaked. I mean undone. But heck, I still cannot wait for Chinese New Year to arrive. Uber excited. =D
