Listening to the slow songsThe pms is coming. As of now, I am feeling down. I think it could be due to the lack of more Grey's Anatomy episodes to watch. That show always makes me think. & there's the dreaded Friday just a day away but I shan't talk about that no more. I am looking forward to tomorrow however, because it marks the end of my working week; unless I go back to clear my work on Friday morning which is actually, quite a strong possibility but heck! Tomorrow is my last day, tomorrow is my last day.
Going to work this week has been a little different. Since it is still the Chinese New Year, I don't have a ride in from the MRT station so I have taken to taking the bus as cab-bing empties my purse way too fast. Coincidentally, the two days (yes it's supposed to be three days but I overslept yesterday) I took the bus, I took it with this other caucasian woman. Okay, I could be riding with the same busload of people for all I know but she stood out because the first time I saw her, she looked like one of those high-flying woman who arrives at the office in a _____ (insert luxury brand) convertible with the shades and all. Let's see if I will spot her again tomorrow.
I think a little walking in the morning before work/school does wonders. The cool breeze and the quiet time makes a brilliant start to the day.
P.s. I was stunned to see SY's sms yesterday. Nothing bad most definitely. Just that it's been so long. A surprise indeed

After so long..The results are coming out this Friday. I am not looking forward to it. My 'psychic' colleague told me I will not get an A. Okay, that was to be expected. But today, she brought her tarot cards to work and gosh it turned out as horrid as it could possibly get. I drew the 'Tower' card and that means downfall - supposedly the worst card in the deck. Plus, I had the 'King of Swords' and 'Seven of Swords' as well. Believe me, those aren't good cards either. How, you tell me. She also said I was running away from something. I
think I know what
it is.
My primary school ex vice-principal appeared in the orbituary yesterday. At 60, she was too young to leave the world.
We are more than halfway through Chinese New Year. The past week has seen me eating so much, I think I gained at least 3 pounds of
fat. Then, there was the mahjong. Lots and lots of mahjong. Yay-ness, but the end is near. Our last game will be played this Sunday. I also received many many ang paos from my workplace! Six in all! & it's quite a fair bit of -chink chink-. That is the good thing about working at a place where chinese traditions rule. :)
Updated at 11.30pm: Oh my oh my, an ex CCPS principal also died on the same day as my ex vice-principal. How can it be so coincidental?
Okay, I haven't been communicating as much as I should these days. A sms can take as long as a day before I reply. A reply within 15 minutes is quite a rarity. The average time is probably a hour. I always convince myself it is because I am busy at work even if I was at home, which is not untrue but many times, I had that minute or two to spare but I was lazy. The same goes for MSN - just too lazy to continue a conversation. I have been meeting PM after work pretty often these days though. Perhaps, it is not so bad after all.

一起努力吧!我要有几位交情很深很深的朋友。
我要有一个很充实很充实的高中生活。
The Japanese rowing show is so similar to my JC life. Just that instead of sailing, it was rowing.
I Miss Sailing!
I am so close to the sea everyday and there's the wind and the white caps - so welcoming, but there's no sailing boat! Gah. I remember how the weeks passed so quickly because I was so looking forward to each training, especially during the very first year. The thought of setting up an alumni is very appealing. & I wish I had left a mark on my boat. A dot, a line whatever.
Work is getting absolutely dreary! I am counting down the days to the end of my stint there. As of today, there are 38 more working days to Mentor's return. The number may look small but I am pretty sure it is not as promising as it seems.
Okay, you just have to stick it out.

The past & present weekLast week was terrible. I actually did OT! It was the only week since I started when I entered the office every morning with unfinished business from the day before. It was also perhaps the only time I badly wanted to return to the office on a Saturday to complete my work. So the week went by without any gatherings because I was just darn too tired to be an okay company, much less good company.
I went to Bugis for Chinese New Year shopping though but returned home with nothing except for a lot of sinful food in my tummy. Oh! The ice cream man there sells ice cream super cheap! 80cents for an ice cream bread or waffle. Where else can you get that? And we attempted baking kueh lapis on Saturday night. Gosh. Now we know why one block of that cake costs so much. Our oven was switched on for a whole four hours! By the time it was three quarters done, Sarah was already in her dreamland and I was half asleep.
Yesterday was record-breaking. We left the office, smelling of smoke, close to midnight. There was a Thanksgiving ceremony going on and curiosity made me stay back to watch and participate.

This shows two of the three huge piles of incense paper burnt last night.

This shows the praying and burning of the many statues. I heard there were 300 odd of them in all.

The photo on the left was taken before the prayers started. The one on the right after it began. Notice the picture on the right has many orbs in it while the left one does not. We had many orb-ful ones like that. If you look from the side of the camera when the flash lights up, it is like tiny specks of dust all around. Enlarge the picture big enough and you will be able to see vague deity figures in those orbs. I didn't believe it at first but now, I guess I do (this sounds like a tagline from some slimming ad) after my colleague showed me.
I am not sure what these flags that they are praying to are for. My colleague said it is some resting place for the deities? I don't know. But this pile of incense paper was really huge. There was still a tiny fire when I left this evening which is already more than 17 hours since it was lighted up.
