laser sailingd, remember how we thought sailing the laser was so cool because the tacking and gybing was done facing forward, and the tiller extension had to be held behind the back for a while before switching to the front? and the boat actually had a angular front so it cuts the water and waves unlike the topper. plus the laser is made of fibreglass and looked way more professional than the plastic colourful toppers. remember ms kang's incident? the thrill you had just being on the boat; even ms kang's scolding couldn't kill your joy because You Just Sailed A Laser! haha. i cannot remember the super nice vj girl's name already. i wonder if the people on the committee boats during our laser competitions had the same desire? well, in my knowledge, none had the audacity to do what you did though. as it turned out, the tacking and gybing are not as WOW as it seemed, especially the gybing in strong winds- i don't think i ever overcame my fear to do that. the boat, contrary to what i thought, does slam like nobody's business into waves. this i can vouch for because there was a race when people overlapped me while i was doing the first upwind leg- the horror! and those girls make sailing the laser look so easy! my my, i dare say it's one of the most demanding tasks my body had to go through (besides running the 2.4 or any distance beyong 1km heh). okay i admit i'm also about the un-fittest sailor around. but you know, once you have tried it, there's no going back. not to the byte, not to the topper. the laser with all the pulleys (shucks i forgot what the system is called) rocks socks! i wanna go sailing sailing sailing!
p.s. i realised i don't know where's my level 1 card again. sigh.

Awesome weekendFirst there was our 21st birthday party for our friends last Friday at Cafe Oliv where I received many pressies, even the most unexpected bottle Johnnie Walker Black Label from the econs peeps.

Econs peeps, S226 peeps + WH + SH & Jan, drinking/clubbing buds, the 4 of us, Sissy & me, sailors, and cousins. :D

Just for Amanda: The close-to-10 minutes we took to take a picture of us TK sailors. -.-

Funny antics with SH taking pole position for her ability to do them
on me without me knowing. :X
Subaru Impreza Challenge the next morning! Yay 'cause all females automatically qualified so we only had to draw the numbered ping pong ball for our positions. Sissy S drew the suck-iest position while I drew a pretty good one so we exchanged since I was not planning to go all the way what with a test to study for.

So there I stood with my palm glued to the decal on the top right corner of the windscreen- a position I was sorely lacking the height for.
In the end, no we didn't get the car. Sissy S lasted for 36 hours and had to be wheelchaired out 'cause of the water retention in her legs and I, well, with that damned position, let's just say I lasted shorter. But it was damn FUN! The thrilling 5-minute break, the talking to the girls behind and in front of me, supporting Sissy S till I had a little water retention in my leg as well, and our entire family coming down to support us etc. etc. etc.
We are definitely going to try again next year and the next and the next and the next. In fact, I'm feeling the withdrawal symptoms right now. Ooh can't wait!

Bloody hell. Please just go die. Go get your facts right before accusing me next time. My apologies after that, like it matters. Seriously. I never supported you. Never have, never will be.

Never thought I'd ever say this again..I wanna go clubbing! ): ): ):
And I had some thoughts earlier in the day. But I just realised it contradicts the sudden want I have (refer to first sentence). Anyway! I was thinking what's with the pursuit for money and material possessions? Happiness? Recognition? Both of which don't seem too correct for me because what comes after money is recognition and what comes after recognition is consciousness and what comes after consciousness is misery. Where does happiness come in? Instant gratification, yes perhaps, but how about happiness with truly no worries? Now that does not seem to fit in anywhere. Okay cut short, rash conclusion!
I still want my internet. I still want my cellphone. (Actually I don't know why I want those two to be connected so much since I'm notorious for taking 7937532470 minutes to reply.) And of course, I still want my clubbing. :X

Make no apologyToday was probably one of my worst travelling experiences ever.
1st ride: Dad sent us to school and I dropped my ezlink card without knowing.
2nd ride: Totally missed the Buona Vista MRT stop and only realised when the bus reached Holland V.
3rd ride: God knows why I took the train to Boon Lay when I wanted to go City Hall.
4th ride: No mishaps. Finally!
Ohoh met Sharon when walking out of SMU. One of my train kakis! Train kakis should probably have a meeting soon heh.
