Tell me practice makes perfectJust couldn't move fast. M was always so far ahead of me. The slopes were quite manageable but I landed right smack on my butt on a flat ground just because I failed to notice this thing lying there. Stupid.
We passed this group of shrieking girls when M commented, we sailors don't scream, we swear. How true. As the saying goes, swear like a sailor.
When I told another friend about my falling down, she said, landing on the butt is good! They serve as airbags. Dang.
Called off a dinner appointment again.
Pangseh-ed her twice in a row. I reckon she's mad.
Oh, and Turkish food rocks!

I winked at my own littleness as people do at their own faultsI vaguely remember Gulliver's Travels but not enough to recall the Land of Horses, the Land of Dwarfs and such. A Modest Proposal also seems interesting enough. Another two books into the bag that screams only open after the A'levels.
Met E, A's former (I think) cell group leader. A good acquaintance. She offered shelter when I was at my lowest, even insisting that she speak to my Dad to make sure we were going to be safe before we left or else she wouldn't have let us. That kind woman.
Going to try the slopes tomorrow. Hope I won't end up with bruises all over. There are also 4 papers to be done this weekend.
I will manage!

There goes my very last PE of my lifeIt went by with me sitting on the floor chatting and looking at the guys play basketball. How uninteresting. Didn't even run, sweat or do anything. Oh and I really do miss seeing PChoy around.
The chance to pon school that I saved for tomorrow turns out to be useless after all, since I
have to go to school. All that errands and of course, testimonial! Cannot wait to see what kind of crap they write in there.
Why must the Physics department take down all the stuff on IVLE tomorrow? Because of that, I am here and once I am here, I will never stop. Two hours now. Darn.

My 4.95million dollar FerrariAww, my sister is such a pleaser. I was shocked when I entered the house to her screaming I got you your cute little Ferrari! It was the purse I was eyeing back at Suntec on Saturday.

Sweet!

Mom: Flower words.

School's a dragGrades - down the drain. Officially second last PE but mood was totally not there. Eyes dark and puffy more than ever. Can't freaking sleep at night. Talk, laugh and be high when I am just feeling very tired. At least, there wasn't one of the typical terrible mood swings.
No end.

I miss having FUN!And FUN is..
1. Hanging out with friends till late, late at night before we literally run to catch the last train.
2. Having no study woes.
3. Sailing, sailing, sailing.
Gosh, I miss The Team.

Went for supper. It is time to worry about that time of the term again - weight taking.

She draws good!My sister was inspired by the girl sitting beside us while we were waiting at SIR yesterday.

I secretly took this photo when she was looking around for more inspiration.
So today, she churned out these:

Her representation of yesterday.

I thought this is quite an abstract idea.

All lovey-dovey.
And this is how Singapore Pools at Jalan Besar looks at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. Terrible. Practically all of them are holding horseracing betting slips or punter's guide. Somewhat like a scene straight out of a Hong Kong movie.

I so want to get a DSLR.

Oversleeping helps sometimesWe were so tired that we slept on the bus and ended up opposite the padang. The view was so nice, we just had to take a few pictures.

Mom is truly pissed about us, or rather, my going out too often. She also reprimanded me for spending too extravagantly these days. Shouldn't have left the chocolates and sushi receipts in the open. But it's celebration week! And really, I will start saving when school starts next week.
Last night, I was in awe watching Oprah. It seems she always says the right things at the right time. SY said it is due to high EQ so that was my research topic for today - how to improve EQ. The only really relevant site is
this.
Haven't slept in more than 24 hours. Want to go blading again tomorrow morning but I don't know about Mom and I bet when I fall asleep later, I will be a dead pig for like forever.
@ 4:21 PM
Sisters day outFrom morning till now, there
was were was (shit man, what happened to grammar? I have totally no idea if it is supposed to be 'was' or 'were'. Okay, 'was' it is!) bowling, blading, cycling, walking, waiting, nodding off, impatience and eating. Everything was fun 'cept for the two hours of waiting at SIR and the idiots at the bowling alley. Bowling (the activity itself) was great considering I haven't bowled in years and I could still find the rhythm. Blading was not as good but I am so going to improve on it. For one, I have decided to go blading at least once every week. Early tomorrow morning, I will be at ECP again. Gosh, been up since 9pm and am so tired but there's still Suntec.

Too many people have my nameTried to create a new email address - a more mature one for future use - but I couldn't get the one I wanted. In the end, I had to settle for one that still has my name but looks less mature so actually, now that I think about it, it defeats the purpose, ay?
And I had to have my friend send the link to the site for setting up the account because I just couldn't find it. She created her account in five minutes! while I was still trying to find the webpage. Goodness, getting rusty here.
Friday, September 22, 2006 @ 11:49 PM
OooGhost Whisperer is quite interesting. There was this person hanging himself on another tv programme. And I realised that there is no way any one can hang themselves in my house because there just isn't anything on the ceiling to tie that noose. That's good. Oh, but I'm
leaving living on the 19 floor. Hmm, maybe not so good.
Ah morbid, morbid thoughts.
@ 9:55 AM
Taking stockWoke up really early, looked at myself in the mirror and wondered, why are those ugly eye bags still there? There is a break right? So I'm supposed to be getting enough sleep right? So the eye bags are supposed to disappear right?
Then I switched on the radio, laid down on the couch and had some quiet time. Okay I purposely switched on the radio so that it won't be so quiet because silence is too loud. Does that make any sense? Think I did.
The last three nights have been quite strange. It is like, all of a sudden, this horrid feeling will strike me and I'll start feeling oh-so-depressed. I just went to sleep on two of the nights but the night before, I actually went out cycling. Whoa, that felt good. It really got the endorphins going and the thought of the all calories burnt was a bonus. Plus, it was darn exciting to be able to ride across wide roads that are usually packed with vehicles. So going to do it again soon.
I will stop being so self-indulgent.
Oh, and I did something totally uncharacteristic of me yesterday. As I was passing by Clarke Quay's The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf outlet, I remembered the last time I was there about a year ago to study. That night, I had to control my bladder for two whole hours because she gave me wrong directions after I sent her home and I forgot it was already after midnight so there was no more bus service. Stupid stupid. So I sms-ed her to tell her I missed her. We don't even talk that much now. I guess I really do treasure her quite a lot. After all, she was the one who forced me to learn how to regulate
my sms-ing my replies to her, because my bill was getting too overwhelming.
I think I have been going out way too much. Realised this when Mom automatically asked me last night where I was going today. And my conversation with Sis went somewhat like this:
Sis: You are going out tomorrow?
Me: Maybe.
Sis: Go out so much, no more paper already?
Me: Yes! No more paper! My prelims ended on Wednesday!
Sis: You think you will score very well? (Add a little sarcasm to that)
I get the point. I must start now. It scares me when a friend sms-es to say that she's whacking Geography for the A'levels at 7am in the morning when her prelims only ended on Monday.
@ 12:02 AM
Everytime I say I won't do it again but..
Sushi, toilet, top of Marina Square, in and out of the free shuttle bus from Millenia Walk.
Finally satisfied my long time craving of sushi. Both of them puked and shitted after eating but I didn't. Hurray! Candy Empire was like paradise! But later I passed the Godiva store and I told myself next time Candy Empire is no-no, Godiva it shall be.

Left: View from top of Marina Square. Right: The Pan Pacific
The top of Marina Square remains on my list of one of the best places to take photographs. It has such a great view. And it is also a great place to hang out and talk though there are no real seats around. The Pan Pacific looks quite stunning. Some understated elegance. Okay, I'm really not that serious about that. Hoping the inside is much much better.

Ahh cannot!I was so happily researching on backpacking jobs in Australia then I checked out the Australian High Comission in Singapore website and
Nationals of some countries (who are under 31 years of age) are able to obtain a Working Holiday Maker visa that allows short term employment combined with visiting Australia for up to one year. Singapore nationals are NOT entitled to working holiday visas.
Spoiler spoiler!
Well, at least there is sushi to look forward to.

I miss the times when my sms-es spoke volumesIn the past, when my friends read my sms-es, they could sense what I was feeling, whether I was down, happy or whatsoever. It is like as I mature, my sms-es just become more _____ . Gone are the ... and =D because now they look just way too childish. I remember when I was mad or upset last time, my sms-es would be filled with just full stops but now practically all my sms-es are filled with just full stops. Of course there were other things too. But now they are left behind because I'm a young adult now and I need to sms like an adult. :(

The epitome of a no liferI cannot stand this. I am home a mere hour after my
last paper has ended eating food microwaved in a styrofoam box. No going out and no one at home. Never mind the fact that I will probably have engagements the rest of the week. Such a sad sad life.
I just saw my classmate log on. This is so wrong. What happened to us?
Updated at 4.25pm: Another classmate just signed in. Everyone is turning into no lifers.

Stupid songs on the radioOnly served to make me feel down last night and they weren't even sad ones can. Okay, maybe 80% of them evoked depressing moments but still.. In the end, I slept early because it was too lonely and bored and sad studying all alone. And I think I could have slept with my right eye wide open 'cause it's painful now.
Ahh how do you do that?
I shall call my friend to eat at Chinatown this week - the week of celebration! - and tell her I
pangseh her the other time 'cause I knew that the next time will be now when Chinatown is so pretty with all the Mid-Autumn Festival decor up. Brilliant idea!
While typing, I realised I've been going on a lot of one-on-one outings recently, which is how I like it actually. Small groups are fine but big group outings are so purpose-less, troublesome and everyone has to compromise one way or another. No fun already.
Sushi tomorrow! Yayness. We have been postponing it way too much and I have been craving for it for way too long.
A song is on repeat mode now. If I am depressed later, it will be all this song's fault. Songs again.

I cannot change the direction of the wind but I can adjust my sails! It is not the end but I already did a pre-celebration to mark the end of these horrid two weeks. There is only one more short paper left and that's it, done! Then, I can start counting the Fs coming in.
Okay, this week is for celebration, enjoyment and being happy. Next week and the week after and the week after and the week after and....., I will

Now no one can say I'm not generousI passed the sore eye virus to my whole family! Dad - checked. Mom - checked. Sisters - checked. So now everyone is at home with a mc. See, I am sharing the good stuff. Everyone gets to rest, and with a valid reason too, because of me. :)
Okay, Sarah is going to curse and swear at me for making her lose precious hours at work which will result in less income for her.
Today's Chemistry paper was absolute crap. I thought biochem was going to be tested again in the next paper but turns out it isn't so I have wasted my one and only chance to test my proficiency at that horrid topic.
Ah never mind, Math
will be better.
@ 1:33 AM
Mind-bogglingI don't like how this is coming along. Next time, I will be more discerning because there's never any clue what you're thinking. Never. And it's making me mad.
My sister ran into my room just now to announce that she too is having yellow stuff coming out from her eyes. Just great. Another sore eye patient in this household. We didn't even share a towel. Oh, don't tell me it is the mouse. Whatever.
Vitamin C - Graduation was being played on the radio just now. That song - so old yet it still makes me feel a rush of emotions every time.
And so we talked all night about the rest of our lives
Where we're gonna be when we turn 25
I keep thinking times will never change
Keep on thinking things will always be the sameBut when we leave this year we won't be coming backNo more hanging out cause we're on a different track
And if you got something that you need to say
You better say it right now cause you don't have another day
Cause we're moving on and we can't slow down
These memories are playing like a film without soundAnd I keep thinking of that night in June
I didn't know much of love
But it came too soon
And there was me and you
And then we got real blue
Stay at home talking on the telephone
We'd get so excited, we'd get so scared
Laughing at ourselves thinking life's not fair
And this is how it feels
[1] - As we go on
We remember
All the times we
Had together
And as our lives change
Come whatever
We will still be
Friends forever
So if we get the big jobs
And we make the big money
When we look back now
Will our jokes still be funny?
Will we still remember everything we learned in school?
Still be trying to break every single rule
Will little brainy Bobby be the stockbroker man?
Will Heather find a job that won't interfere with her tan?
I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye
Keep on thinking it's a time to fly
And this is how it feels
[Repeat 1]
La, la, la, la:
Yeah, yeah, yeah
La, la, la, la:
We will still be friends forever
Will we think about tomorrow like we think about now?
Can we survive it out there?
Can we make it somehow?I guess I thought that this would never end
And
suddenly it's like we're women and menWill the past be a shadow that will follow us 'round?
Will these memories fade when I leave this town
I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye
Keep on thinking it's a time to fly
[Repeat 1 (3x)]

True blue sore eyeNo, make that eyes. When I woke up this morning, to feel my left eye just as sticky but hurting more than my right, darn! Not good. Now I have a left eye that's red and painful and a right that's red and swollen but not so painful. I don't know which is better. The prospect of going to school tomorrow with normal eyes is looking slim.
This is my first time suffering the whole works (at this point, I'm reminded of Monopoly's Water Works) of a sore eye, including the infectious nature. It is so bad I don't ever want to get it again. I have no idea what triggered this one. Strongly suspect it is Chemistry since it happened just like that -clicks fingers- after I fell asleep while studying Chemistry (again).
One medical condition down. Several more to go though now I am really contemplating if I really do want those. Oh, my friend just added another one - nose bleed.
Chemistry, the root cause of my misery in the days leading up to the Prelims. You suck. I so hate you. I really do.

Goodbye web!I did some math just now and realised that I have slept half of today away! Darn. I will make up for it by attempting to study the whole night. Macs it is, to lure me away from the bed, computer and tv.
Okay, I will come online no more after tonight.

5 days to create a miracleTotally pigged out today. Rice with dishes, pasta, ice cream and finally, durians. Add the juice of two lemons to the other side of the equation and I hope it makes it even.
Stepped into MPH just now to burn some time and read this book - Student's success strategies (or something along that line). Now I am motivated. I have decided that tomorrow shall be my last day to come online and while my time away. After tomorrow I will focus and just focus on studying. And this time I am serious, not like the last time when I promised myself that I will only spend 10 hours a week online but never did make it halfway there.
Because there's still 5 more days and I am going to try to make it all work out in this 5 days.
I hope. Better late than never.

Let me dream againI had a dream the previous night. A strange dream because it was like a sequel to a dream I had sometime back.
In the first dream, I was at a wake at my block and there was another one at the opposite block. Then, suddenly there was a girl running out from the other wake with policemen chasing her. And that was the end of that dream.
The previous night, I saw her running again only this time there weren't any policemen hot on her heels. I hid behind a pillar 'cause I thought she recognised me, I also don't know why. When I got home, I stumbled upon a website saying that she is dangerous. It showed pictures of her with corpses and carrying bloody bodies. I still remember the website address. It was lyunjt.com.
That night, a man who looks like an black American appeared at my window. I was shocked. I live on the 19th floor you know. Then, I remembered I don't lock my window grilles so I tried to lock them but wasn't in time. I ran into my parents' room and tried to lock the door but wasn't in time too so I told him to leave me alone and he did! He backed away. I told him to get out of the house and he actually followed me out. When I opened the front door to let him out, there the girl (the same one running) was. She was pretty. Not the conventional kind of pretty but the edgy kind of pretty. Okay, that's not the point. Turns out they wanted a shower at my place. I was telling my folks, no cannot let them in, they are dangerous but they did and it was all good. My auntie even sent them to the lift.
She kept calling my sister the next few days. I was curious so I asked how that girl got to know of her number and guess what, my sister doesn't know and doesn't remember how she got to know her. Anyway, I was about to get to know her name when I woke up. Dang.
Oh, that girl isn't anyone I know of.
I always wake up at such inopportune moments. There was a dream where the person was about to turn around so that I can see who it is but I woke up. Darn. Now, I want to continue the dream but it's not coming back. At least for the last 3 times I slept.

I don't like how she has changedMy sister is being quite a bitch this days. She demands for things and talks as if she's oh-so-big. Just because she is working, she thinks she's entitled to use the computer whenever she is free to. When we have a conversation, she talks as if she has seen it all, somewhat like how my uncle would and I absolutely dislike that because it is so demeaning. We don't even talk that much anymore. Actually, we almost don't at all. I think I didn't speak a word to her yesterday. Today, it is barely ten.
The situation is rather bad. I actually felt a weak sense of happiness inside when my auntie mocked her for thinking that she was looking for her when actually she was looking for me. She made a comeback but it was not strong. It was obvious that she did not feel good. Normally, I wouldn't feel that way.
So that's how she is now. I wish the person who I can chat with till the wee hours of the morning and not feel the least bit sleepy will come back soon.
I know you are going to read this.

Okay, I give up. I tried to put this sentence 'I actually tried to study today but I just couldn't get into the act' in Chinese but I was totally lost for words.
So yeah, I was not at the computer the whole afternoon, which is good. I tried to study, which is also good. But I slept the whole afternoon away, which is not so good. And all I have done today is essentially two sets of notes, which is bad.

Let's talk about the weatherIt is so hot today. Was sitting at the bus stop waiting for the bus and the heat was stinging. I began to wonder how it would be like if I was out at sea. Then I pictured myself all black with eyes red. Not a pretty sight.
The weather these days is horrendous. It is either super hot and windless or super cold and wet. Nothing in-between. It is really happening. Global warming is really happening; and I just realised it will never stop because when it is hot, we switch on the air-con and that emits CFCs - a greenhouse gas - which is 10 000 times more effective in trapping heat than carbon dioxide. What a vicious cycle.
Is the world going to end in our lifetime?
They always say it is coming soon but it never does. I really hope it will happen in my lifetime. I want to see!
Yay, my efforts in finding statistics last night paid off! Managed to include a few out of the few (definitely less than 10) figures I remembered. So lucky.
Made a new discovery today - Kovan has delicious wanton mee. Add that to the list of wonderful food there and it is really quite a food paradise. Oh, and there's still Chinatown this week. Hawker centres are good. Too bad
most JC students are more of food courts, cafes, fast food outlets and restaurants.

Such a cheaterbugI'm currently exploring
Statistics Singapore for numbers to plonk into the essay tomorrow. This is so stupid. Why are numbers so important in a paper that is supposed to test your command of the English language?
The weekend was busy and thus unproductive like nothing. Really nothing because I didn't do a single piece of work and I mean not even a page of foolscap paper. Damn.
