I love how today went. :)

From the two of us, to three of us when YL (the way she complains about SoC is so humourous) came, to five of us when G (so unexpected!) and YH (new friend from MJ!) came, to seven of us when JM (I was just thinking of her this morning when I saw a Mini go past) and her friend came, to eight of us when P came, and finally 11 of us when ZH, XY and GY (two more new friends from MJ!) came. Later when some left, C came over.

So instead of studying, we slacked networked from 12 to 4pm. And my FNA tutorial which I was supposed to be alone in has B (or her twin, I cannot differentiate) in it!

I think I'll love my Tuesdays.

Today sucked.

Everything was just bad.

First, it was the financial accounting lecture. Just couldn't catch what was going on.

Second, it was math tutorial which S and I were more than half an hour late for. Hence, we missed a lot and didn't quite get the rest. What's more, the tutor isn't some helpful dude. He actually said, 'It's not my obligation to teach that'. We came to the conclusion that, this is so going to be our nightmare.

Third, it was math lecture which the both of us were struggling to stay awake for and the lecturer was teaching some cheem matrices thing. Dead.

Then, I didn't factor in the fact that many other people also end lessons at 6pm and hence buses will be full when it reached our stop. So we sat there and saw countless of packed buses drive past us. Which was a pain in the ass since I was in a rush for tuition. Eventually, I had to cancel tuition 'cause I was going to be obscenely late. Opportunity cost for that bus ride - 50 bucks. Damn. As if buying texts isn't already sucking my bank account dry.

Now, we're scared. Going for that math tutorial was downright demoralising. Going to stay in school and study tomorrow. And I skipped my very first tutorial of my university life. How brilliant ter!

Uniform party!

That was what made us forgo our free movie marathon. And it was a completely filling dinner I tell you. Free flow of drinks, soup, main course - which is that huge plate of food, and dessert! All free!

Made new friends too. :) Also, finally talked to Mic who I saw everywhere during orientation, who all my MJ friends knew, and who all my MJ friends talked to when they saw her. So it was pretty wierd 'cause my friends would go say hi, chat a little then say bye and I didn't ever know whether I should say bye too (by the way, I never did) 'cause what if she doesn't know me then it would be just strange. Turns out she knows me and I know her, so yay.

Thanks to YL for free food! But since invite was late, we didn't have uniforms, hence the tag.

MJ girl power! We did the MJ cheer before this pic was taken. Rock! :)

Our table of people. Cool bunch. :) Jo drives a beemer! And they are teasing me with him just because when C asked what we want to achieve in life, I said taitai-dom. -.-

Finally went to Mind Cafe on Saturday with TK sailors. Wow, haven't seen S in ages and he changed a lot. I mean you wouldn't even imagine him saying, 'I don't speed because I want the people in my car to feel safe' in the past but now he does. It's nice to see how everyone has grown over the years.

There was also Clarke Quay with Savv-ians but didn't go for that 'cause was in no mood to drink.

Great weekend! And a terribly busy week ahead.

Ugh

Sucks. The person in front got the power socket. Just because I was too lazy to lift my ass to move. Now, battery is running out and I gotta go. Gah.

Anyway, YAY! Free movie marathon tomorrow! Cannot wait cannot wait! =DDD

Using the adult ezlink card pisses the crap out of me. I don't know how many xxx bucks I've wasted 'cause I didn't tap on the way out. Today I actually remembered! But the stupid driver closed the door before I could exit and when it opened the stupid machine wouldn't allow me to tap so there the bucks go. Another full fare ride. Damn. I hate it. And I calculated. If I only go school and no where else for a month, transport fares already come up to 60bucks! Sucks.

Sis R got a guinea pig last night. Her name is Maybe. What's with these names? SY named her pink rabbit Who. Hmm. Maybe is so easily frightened, it scares me. Really. Like this morning, I was looking at her when I made a slight movement and she went scrambling to the other end of the cage. The sudden noise also made me scramble away from the cage. Like really jump and run away! She made a few more scrambles after and each and every time it gave me a HUGE shock. It came to a point I got so sian of being shocked like that, I got up from the floor and went about doing my stuff.

Stayed over at Sy's the previous night. It was fun! Feel like doing it again soon heh. Plus I finally finished watching the webcast of the first Econs lect after 3 attempts. But ahh feel guilty for her lack of sleep when she had lessons the day after. I think I will appeal for hall now. There are flat paths and huge grass patches at NTU! Mozzies and huge lizards aplenty too. But that's not the point. The place's sooo nice.

Which reminds me, I was falling over so badly in the shuttle bus today, my friend had to use her legs to kiap my legs and hold my hand. Ugh, the drivers need some serious training. Either that or I need some heavy feet to remain rooted to one spot.

Shall go watch the webcast for the last Philo lecture before the next one tomorrow. Really ought to NOT talk and start paying attention.

Sunday, August 19, 2007 @ 1:41 PM
To get CAP of 4.00

Must
- do readings before lessons
- pay attention in lectures
- revise, do tutorials
- hang out in central library
- get sufficient sleep
- think studying is cool, being a mugger is COOL since I don't have the IQ to juggle studies and a happening life :(((

Must not
- keep telling the guys why they so chiong when even the dragon girls aren't
- fool around during lectures and thus having to resort to watching the webcast which is a total waste of time
- doze off during lessons
- procrastinate when it comes to watching webcast and doing readings since -look at point 2
- waste time during lunch chatting instead of doing readings
- go out so often, i.e. have a life :(((

Conclusion: To get better-than-satisfactory grades, I must be a NERD and have less-than-satisfactory social life.

(Wait, is that opportunity cost? Heck I'm getting my Econs already.)

Conclusion of conclusion: I will be the BORING-EST being on planet earth. BOO.

Ahh x 3

I think I'm fussing over my modules too much. It's like now whenever I come online, the first thing I do is check myemail and the module management page at CORS.

I have a module that no one I know is taking. Sucks. I don't wanna go for lecture alone! Hurrah to LY for going with me tomorrow! But there's still 12 more weeks to go. Gah. And it's doesn't help that I just checked on the specifics of this module and gosh, you should see the number of readings. It's crazy! Please please please let me get Econometrics.

We're going to plan timetable together so I have to re-think my timetable again! Hate this timetabl-ing crap.

Tuesday, August 14, 2007 @ 7:19 PM
Gah gah gah

My voice is still sexy and disappearing! Gosh, I hate it.

Now at Macs waiting 'cause I forgot doctors need their dinners too. All the clinics are closed till 6.30pm. Grr.

Planning of timetable sucks la. They made it sound oh-so-good for us. Actually, it is just saving them the trouble. Remember what they always said back in jc about our timetables giving them BIG headaches? It's really that bad. And I think I cannot have my 3-day week already! Boo.

Just this afternoon I was fussing over my lack of a fifth module but woohoo! They called and I got Financial Accounting pre-allocated! Yay! Financial Accounting leh.. That's how cool. :) Never did I dream that I will be doing that after getting rejected for Biz. Now I'm praying hard my appeal for Econometrics will be successful then I'd be super super happy since I will then be on track to going ANU for 3 sems. Of course, the crux is I've to also get a CAP of 4.00 for the first sem so gonna be super muggy. ANU leh. I will be a mugger just 'cause of that.

Arts has an awesome canteen though it's always uber crowded! We have plenty of stalls and also BK, Lerk (Jerk) Thai and Olio but we have resorted to eating Lerk Thai for two consecutive meals 'cause I tell you, there is a SERIOUS lack of seats. Grr.

First half of first real week of school has been alright but I was telling Sam I reckon I'd be having a whole lot more fun if I were in NTU. All my buds are in there. Like I was having so much fun on MSN with two of them in lecture today. Which brings me to the point - I absolutely cannot use my lappy during lect. Confirm chop stamp chat chat chat and don't listen.

You know, Sam said before that she is really glad to have me but I think I'm more glad I have her even though I don't say it. It's funny how we've come full circle after 2 years. I won't deceive myself. How many of my NUS peeps will tell me about modules over the phone and help me bid just because I'm sick and tired? Actually there are a few but definitely count-able using the fingers on one hand.

I think I've been worrying Mom with my leaving earlier and reaching home later than her perpetually every day. What more, falling sick.

I shall rest more and I want to meet up with friends! Ahh I wanna meet up with the NTU peeps! Like eat, chat, play (mahjong anyone?), oh just see them! Okay, next week next week after my tutorials are settled. Cannot wait!

Sunday, August 12, 2007 @ 12:45 AM
O-week is over!

Rag was great! Eusoff and Sheares Hall were like WOW! I was totally impressed. Float was so beautiful and dance was awesome! I'm sooo happy the two halls I was rooting for turned out to be sooooooo gooood. But got horribly sunburnt la! With sunblock on some more.

SADDDDD.

The end of O-week signifies the start of something dreary - school! Grr. I'll seriously be having killer Mondays should I get all my pre-allocated modules. Sucks seriously to have lectures from 12 to 6pm, back to back, and at different LTs some more. What's more, the LTs are across campus since they are different faculties. But 2 years at ANU without no extra charge seems too good an opportunity to be missed even though the odds are stacked highly against me.

I wrote Roomie a letter today. Concluded? Probably.

Sick!

This is my third time waking up tonight and I just barfed. It’s been such a long time since I last vomited not as a result of alcohol. Sucks. My voice is crap, I’m feverish and that torture-saving asthma pill is probably going to be in my system pretty soon.

My crappy lifestyle has caught up with me I guess. The rushing through and fro, the skipping of meals due to the lack of time which later became loss of appetite, the lack of sleep. I’m quite amazed that gastric pain hasn’t been coming my way. Woots!

@ 1:04 AM
Half of o-week passed

Sentosa day today! Cheered till my voice was like 70% gone. It wasn't as fun without Roomie. Ayy there were issues and voila, she's now with Sotong. Dang.

Thank goodness there's still Will. Oh yes, by the way, we went for Fright Night together again. And it was darn funny, I laughed all the way. Again.

It's stuff like this that allows one to see the other side of a person. Damn, I cried after she left la. It wasn't easy what BCMM and I did, or at least try to. Nothing's changed though. In fact, I think I see a hint of selfish-ness. She doesn't realise that she should perhaps take some of the blame for what happened. I subscribe to this belief that if one were to choose something, one should stick to it all the way. That’s correct isn’t it? It's being responsible. I do not deny the fact that if MM were to speak to me in that very same manner, I would have done exactly what she did and she most definitely did more for the og than me but yeah, there was a slight lack of commitment, that much was obvious. Even I felt it.

Oh well, we tried. I think I will write a letter to her. Whether she eventually gets to read it or not will depend on how brave I am to possibly have my status upgraded from Best Foe to King of Foes. Gah.

I'm not angry. Just disappointed.

Once again

The more you get to know a person, the more flaws you'll see. Frankly, I don't quite like them flaws. I mean, they are flaws for a reason.

Oh my goodness 1: I saw Ms ELai at this GRC dinner just now! Was so paiseh la but eventually, I plucked up enough courage and went to say hi to her. The first thing she asked was if I got into uni. Ugh.

Oh my goodness 2: Jon got A a diamond ring!

Got to thank PM loads and loads for offering me lodging last night even though it was already 4am. Of all things, I forgot to bring my house keys! She was so nice, let me shower then we talked and talked until I started spouting nonsense and hearing & processing only bits and pieces of what she was saying. :) And I'm going to help out in the Western Circuit Sailing Regatta. See keelboats race! So excited!

1 hour of sleep later, back to NUS I was. O-week is alright I guess. Just alright for now. Perhaps it's because I was there for barely half a day. Roomie was depressed today 'cause of.. well, stuffies. So we left the og, got doughnuts and chatted while waiting for time to pass - me to meet Pong and her for her friend.

I heart Pong! Offered me two tickets for NDP preview today albeit last minute but who cares? They're tickets and this year's one is so interesting some more! Gave them to Mom and Dad to go 'cause Mom has only gone once I think and Dad, zilch.

Feeling a little sleepy now. Shall start heading home for a wonderful rest on my bed.

The end and the start

'Kay I'm still in the office albeit doing my personal stuff. I've cleared all the things I have to do. That's 8 months of work here. 8 months! Who would have thought?

Today's also the shifting of the temple. The turnout was huge! From the old to the new, I regret not taking any pictures earlier. Now I have none. Seriously, zilch.

Oh well.

Nice Colleague said she's sad that this is my last day. This other colleague also invited me to her wedding!

I think I will miss working here. The freedom. The countless hours of slacking. And the people.

Yes, the people.
