Singapore's 40th birthdayDid you catch a glimpse of the moon last night? It was awesome. I've never come across the moon looking as splendid as that. You could almost see how the earth shielded the light from the sun so that there was not a full moon but a cresent one. It was the perfect shade of yellow - neither too bright nor dark. The cresent was very nicely shaped - not too broad and not too narrow. It was clearly defined yet you could see the black slowly merge with the golden yellow of the moon, leaving no clear line of separation between the two colours. The view - breathtaking. I wish i had a camera right then.
There was a tiny shiny dot beneath it. It looked like a star. But it wasn't how stars should look like; stars are supposed to be silver. This one definitely wasn't silver. It was the same golden yellow as the moon. Wierd, i thought. Did i just witness a once-in-a-million years phenomenon?

Today's Singapore's 40th birthday! Sadly, the national day parade didn't impress me. Neither did the fireworks. Truth to be told, having celebrations at 4 other venues besides the padang sucked. Whoever came up with that idea ought to be shot! And my my, who said having lots of small fireworks crowding - yes i do mean crowding - the sky was good? I'd much rather have big fireworks that make me go wow! then many small little ones bursting simultaneously, creating such a mess.
