Block unityI think I understand why the 2 blocks here are the only 2 blocks in this area under MP constituency and not Aljunied. 'Cause the people here are ready to oppose when they deem necessary and no one ever contests GCT so that diminishes our power.
If you haven't known, my block was the one with the huge crack in one of the column (pillar) that was published on the English and Chinese newspapers a week or two back. It was the first time the entire block was evacuated. The residents have taken issue that although the authorities have declared the building safe, they are currently constructing another column on the other side of the block for support. It's safe? We ask in a letter to the MP. A letter with at least 61 out of 80 households' signatures, including my mom's.
So one of the MP, Dr F, is coming down later this evening to meet the residents. I'm pretty impressed with the initiative of a couple of my neighbours and the entire block's residents backing it. This is like how cool. Okay 'cool' is not exactly the correct word but you get my drift. Block unite!
